I was wondering when guardian/stone sphere is up, does it intercept aoes?  I know it does melee aoes like barrage, but what about elemental aoes?  Also does anyone actually use these spells in KoS zones?

I don´t realy use stonesphere, its to dangerous. If you use those intercept spells on raids, you will find yourself very quickly on the ground.
But when i use my intercept, i will put it on a plate healer. If he gets hit it won´t hurts you so much and also you will regain agro much faster, because your inflaming defense will proc sometimes when you intercept.
Oh, and don´t use intercept spells when you are in HoF or if your healer don´t notice he is still standing near a rooted mob SMILEY .

i use guardian sphere all the time, because just for the stoneskin proc, but i believe yes it has a chance to intercept the dmg from aoe, so yah if you get hit by aoe in group situation you will go down mighty fast, i'm not 100% on that. but i think as it intercepts the dmg from the group in an aoe hit situation it stacks the dmg and has a possibility to use stone skin from the point that hte aoe hits, so possible not to take the full group dmg, and intercepts are non mitigated, even if healer is plate, it's base dmg. let me break down what i mean on stoneskin:

you throw up guardian sphere, you in a 6 person group, aoe hits 58% chance to intercept so

Aoe

1 takes = you, you take dmg

2 takes = don't intercept

3 takes = intercept

4 takes = intercept

5 takes =dont' intercept

6 takes= intercept

ok your screen will look like that, ofcourse replacing the numbers with peoples names, so we got list, 1, 3, 4, 6 you get dmg 4 times, in the chance of you taking 4 dmg hits, stoneskin has a possiblity to proc twice, with 50% chance so

1 = take dmg

3= stoneskin

4= take dmg

6 = stoneskin

in theory it should look like that, even though you got hit at the same time because of the aoe, the order you took the dmg made stoneskin, theoritically, go off twice and take 2 of those hits, so you really only intercept once from someone, because you got hit from the aoe.

so not big difference, plus guardian/stone sphere doesn't work cross raid, nothing of ours works cross raid, so you only have to worry about your group. so if you use tower of stone while using guardian sphere you wouldn't take any dmg if i got that correct because if the aoe hit you intercepted did 10% of your life i believe, again not 100%, ToS should absorb that hit aswell, so in theory, you using guardian sphere in the right situation wouldn't take any dmg if ToS and your luck is in your favor.

again not 100% would be good if i can have someone clerify this

we do have one cross raid skill...  intercede, when its not broken its the best skill of its kind, 100% to you, 0% to target, 100% chance to proc...

tower of stone won't eat an intercepted hit, it used too, but not anymore...

also it seems that our intervene lines are currentlybroken, it takes no mita/resist into account as far as i can tell...  you get hit HARD when you use them...  died to intercede last night to check it again...  7k hit from an auto attack that wouldn't have phased the MT...  and no ToS didn't eat it...

The intercept lines at one point would check your mitigation for the damage portion you recieved.  Now it does not.  Not sure why it was changed but I know a lot of "Fighters" enjoyed intercede/intercept.   If it was tested to be "to powerful", it would be nice to get something back in the way of a compromise.

This line will also transfer to you any damage that pets take while the skill is active.  I've had it up when some trash pets got hit by an AOE.  Needless to say, I was eating dirt in no time!

Great for situations when you are MT and adds are down - no chance to intercept other group member's damage, as long as they are out of AOE if you're pulsing.
