When I use tower of stone, I hotkey swap an old tower shield anyway SMILEY

Using legendary/fabled t6 tower shields just gets too expensive SMILEY

For the look only helms look different for now, the armor is kind of greyish nothing exceptionnal.Sirriun - Paradigm - Unrest

I do not think it is that counterproductive. I almost exclusively use it on Raids where I tank 64+ epic named mobs.My block rate is trash against yellow epics. Whether I lose 2% displayed block rate or not. I use it for damage spikes... when I am down in orange/red to help the healers catch up.I COULD equip a t1 tower shield, i wouldn't care... I want 3 absorbed attacks (with luck I parry anyway - better chance than blocking).

There are a few problems with using a crappy tower shield to swap out in order to cast Tower of Stone. I tried same thing with some T5 regular tower shields, figuring it didn't matter since I was absorbing damage anyway. Trouble is, right after you swap and before you cast Tower of Stone for that 1 second you are tanking a mob with a terrble shield and that lack of avoidance can really hurt you if the mob hits before you cast Tower of Stone. You mighy say what are the odds I get hit in that split second before casting Tower of Stone, but I have had that happen to me and was so [Removed for Content] off.Second problem with using crappy tower is even when Tower of Stone is active, that only covers the 10%+ damage you get hit with, and anything less than that is going to effect you badly while your defenses are down for using a crap shield. You can get away with a crappy tower on regular mobs and some easier nameds and such, but epics and hard hitting nameds you need an ironwood. Prices of Ironwood aren't too bad now, so not too pricy to go out and get one. I know some people carry a bunch on them but I'm waiting a bit for T7 to get the rest of my towers. Also Adept 3 or Master 1 Tower of Stone helps a lot so you can get a lot of work out of your shield.But all we really need is that fabled tower shield to drop in T7!
