![]() Hmm.. I don't think the shield breaks after just one cast. It can only absorb dmg 3 times. Adept III / Master I redcues the amount of dmg the shield takes. One shield is good for probably 3 casts of ToS. It has a 2 minute recast. I don't think any mob will give you enough time to cast it 3 times. ![]() -Foehammer 50 Guardian of Najena Second Dawn

![]() i like that skill, but isnt viable. I have 5 shields, 1 fabled kite, is the one i use usually, 1 rare t6, the first one i use with ToS, and 3 comon t6 ones. I cast ToS on first secs of the pull once it absorved the 3 hits i switch to fabled kite. If the fight is going hard i use it every time i can burning out shields ( legendary last 2 use ( 45% each time ), commons last 1 ( 75%-90% )). Its inviable because i should carry 200 shields with me to be able to use it every time I would. it should be 1% dmg or none at all.. other way is almost stupid. The spell works pretty well |

Oh, I have Adept III tower of stone too. /shrugs And both of my Tower Shields are Fabled. Not sure what axor is saying about the 45% thing. Maybe that is on normal mobs. Message Edited by Shakir1065 on 11-17-2005 05:02 AM

![]() mine is adept 1, as far as i know the dmg diference is not enough to give shield another use on adept 3, so im waiting for master 1.
on legendary shield : 15% per hit ( 3 hit = 45% ) on common shield 25%-30% per hit ( 3 hit 75% -90% ) seems variable Dont have a fabled tower shield to try it out. |

ok, maybe it has something to do with the difference then between heroic encounters and Epic encounters. For the dammage done to a shield

![]() I carry around 3 ironwoods, plus a cedar and zalaks. Ironwood are very cheap on my server so I will probably have a few more made for kicks. Im finding at adept3 the shield usually takes 13% damage per absorption. So each shield can take around 7 hits before becoming useless. The hit messages give you the unmitigated damage numbers (which makes sense, your shield isnt beneath your armor).

6 t5 fabled, 2 iron wood, 2 t6 fabled.. but still not enough. I falt our refuses to pay an extra 50gp a day in repairs due to a bugged spell.

Yes I to refuse to use it.. And whats worse it the 'OTHER' tank gets the exact same skill but it does not dmg there eqpt. There is no draw back to it what so ever.

Any spell that uses up5 shields per hour of tanking, when other classess get a better version of it with no equipment loss, is clearly defective.

i say tower of stone should damage your sheild but menders shouldnt charge too repair them

![]() It is mostly onyl worth using if you hit orange or red. It only takes around 1100 dmg hit max to go off. Reactives basically absorb everything else. So it gives your healers that extra time to fill you up. Isnt worth using unless in a emergency unless as people said. You wanna pay alot on repair bills.

Couldn't agree more. If the damage was minimal I could live with it, but as it is, the spell is nearly useless. I'd rather they increase the recast and take out the damage to the shield or pretty much any other tradeoff. |

Guards should have a abilitie to mend the shield, out of combat ...
