Looking for clarification on the following intercept damage/block damage/absorb damage, etc etc skill lines. Yes, I have read about 50 posts on it, but there is little consensus. Below are all the skills I could find that do anything of this nature for Guardians. Please comment on which lines to use, looking for a guide on these basically - which to use, which to stack, etc.
 
6 -      Intervene - Chance to intercept damage dealt to nearby ally
 
18 -    Stand Firm - Parry/Block attacks on party member
32.6 - Never Surrender - Parry/Block attacks on party member + parry buff
46 -    Vigilance - Parry/Block attacks on party member + chance to intervene

20 -  
Sentinel -
Sometimes absorb all dmg a single party member would take
34 -   Safe Guard -
Sometimes absorb all dmg a single party member would take
48.6 -Sentry - Sometimes absorb all dmg a single party member would take

21 -   Allay - Parry/Block attacks on party member

50 -   Guardian Sphere - Sometimes absorb damage dealt to the party

Allay takes 1 Concentration point. The rest, per eq2players do not...

All the yellow text skills are usable at the same time. Unless the concentration points are wrong at eq2players, or my list is wrong (and will be fixed!).

My premature assumptions:

  • Often you do NOT want to intervene and take damage (nasty damage spikes)
  • Skills without intervene characteristics should be used in all groups. Always.
  • Intervene skills should be understood and be ready to be used

The supposed *best* skill of the above is Never Surrender (32.6), since it intercepts no damage, but provides the best defensive benefit.

So, can you stack Allay on top of Never Surrender? Should you Allay all members of your group (can you?) etc.

Looking for a discussion on this.  I believe I understand how they work, but not how they work *together*.

I apologize I don't have access to a 50 guardian to test all of them :smileywink:

Allay and never surrender work, rest are useless trash skills that wast your time. SMILEY

Yep... put up Allay.... like 22% to avoid right now...

get an SK and put up their 32 level block skill.... its like a 20% increase to avoid...

then take a bruiser... and put up their 20% to avoid combat art....

 

Hmmm... put em on a zerker with a 40% avoid.....and you'll never get hit... as long as they stay up... cause they should stack

 

 

Just another wonderfull design "feature" that I'm sure will soon be exploited and then nerfed....

man it would be nice if these buffs were 15 minutes too, because recasting 3 minute single player buffs get really annoying, especially if you're trying to put it on more than one or two people.
