The skill "Ruin" says it is a skill that does damage to your target and slashing damage over time.  I was guessing it is much like Wound, but there is no icon under maintained, and their is no "YOUR Ruin hits targer for XY" in my battle spam that I see, is this bugged?

Also is Shouting Cry, Toughness, and possibly even Taunting challenge broken? Any links appreciated.
Thanks all! :smileyvery-happy:

At App 2 I was wondering the same thing.. the dmg does not seem to be DoT instead it seems to be applied immediatly.. I see dmg from 1 or 2 sources so far and both say Ruin.. ie.

You Ruin the elephant for 102 dmg
You Ruin the elephant for 18 dmg.

The second number is always significantly lower than the first though.. im wondering if at App 3 it does 3 hits.

Checked this tonight and verified it with another Guardian - Appears to do 2 hits with no noticable DoT thereafter.

You know what the difference between combat art levels is, right?  It wont change the function of the spell, i.e. adding more ticks of dmg or whatnot...  It's basically just a modifier to your level.

Suppose you're lvl 26 and you use App1 Ruin... your dmg, chance to hit and whatnot is calculated as if you were lvl 25.  Use Master1 Ruin and your dmg, chance to hit are calculated as if you were lvl 30...  I dont know if itd actually be lvl 30, but thats how it works...

There is a dot tick
it is a long wait, 45 or 60 seconds, i never really counted. But it does about 80 dmg for me. Most of the time, the fights don't last long enough to see it, or i have used ruin again :p.

At level 26 with adept 3 the tics do about 114 damage each but they are ridiculously far apart.  In a long battle I might get two tics.  It never appears to wear off however.  I would say the slow tics are a bug and I recommend we ask it be sped up and that a maintained icon be added much like wound.

I've been wondering about this skill too. I've also seen that it hits twice right away. Never kept looking for a tic for more than 10 sec maybe so I haven't seen the late tic...

If that was the case Battle Cry App 1 would not have a 20 sec less timer than Battle Cry App 3.  Which it does.

Hypothetically a DoT ability is per Tick.. increasing the timer could therefore increase dmg.
