Guardian = the suck

Am I the only one who is angry with guardian?

I took this class thinking that i would have the highest HP and AC all the best taunts and get to be the biggest baddest meat sheild ever, but instead all i do is cast allay on a zerker or SK and hit Battle Tactics/Guardian's Call every 3 minutes. I guess had I read up on the class i might have forseen this fate but it seemed self explanitory at the time, Zerkers are DPS and Guardians take the hits. I guess thats what i get for being logical :robotsad:

And whats with Hand of The Just? is that the most pristeen example of homosexuality ever? I mean Zerkers get a fire hand with a trail, SK gets a fricken HORSE!!!!! Monks get Katas, Chanters get to make people do emotes and the others get to turn into bears or wolves or other cool stuff. Guardians get a smokey hand?!?! that doesnt even leave a trail and if your hand goes up in the air the particals dont even act like real smoke instead of raising up from the hand they go down :robotmad:

Id like to take my smokey hand and shove it in the [Removed for Content] of the dev that thought this one up. :robotsurprised:

whats with the "you make a witty remark and turn on the charm" text that pops up when you turn it on? what the hell does that have to do with a smokey hand?

Look at me my hand is mentholated! Im a walking Philip Morris add! carefull of my dreaded smokey hand! it has the power to slow frame rates and mildly annoy you.

Like any ones post ever changed the game any way. /sigh

i dont see how by your description Guardians arent the ' biggest baddest meatshields ' , they are damage absorbers, they are strong and mighty and armor plated and wonderful and everything else. They increase their parties defences a number of ways and act as the best option to absorb any damage directed to the group by npc's.as for the level 20 flavour spell, its dissapointing yeah compared to what others get, who knows tho, at 40 everyone might be totally jealous of whatever ' Form of the Rook ' turns out to be, while their level 40 wolf and lion forms get icey particle paws? SMILEY

ive read on this board mainly about how guardians think they are getting the raw deal and need to be ' fixed ' , you havent been playing the class a month yet and a handful at best are above level 30.. sheesh, give it a go.. just because something doesnt work like you imagine it would doesnt mean that anything needs fixing, give it a chance for everyones knowledge about how to best play their classes reaches something above mid levels before banging down SoE's door claiming they have are nerfed and broken and so on..

So far, I love playing as a Guardian, still working on buying my full set of vanguard armor, but being a meat shield is fun. I have a few issue's with some of our comabt moves but nothing to go crazy about. The game is still early and some tweaking will be done.

Guardians are good ...take a level 20 zerker and guardian with the same armor and have each tank a yellow mob....tell me who the healer loves more...the guardian (have tried it). I'm a level 23 guardian and couldnt be happier ( well ok a few of the abilities are kinda umm pointless ) but all in all i think the guardian is a great meatshield...maybe you just need some more play time as one IanTheRed.

I'm getting quite disappointed as well, I am just hoping this changes higher level.. I am getting so annoyed,being in a group and being told not to tank because the same level SK/zerker in group has more hp/ac than me

happen to me too many times in group. difference is zerk/sk has very similar hp/ac with me, but I was told not to tank. using my skill alley, and couple other buff. is this what a real guardian about? waste my time to hit lvl 24 and it's not worth it. going back to eq1 to my uber warrior SMILEY

If a equal level sk or zerker has more AC/HP than you its because your gear sucks and theirs is good. Upgrade.

No I worked hard for it. Get your 6 pieces of quest armor, kill the pirates on the beach at Nektulos until you get the Steel Platemail helm (or buy one), save up for pristine fasioned jewelry or something equivalent. Takes a bit of time but is well worth it..

Gear is very important - With all things equal in gear at level 50 no one will have more HPs than a Guardian and no one will have more AC.

Guardian is the only Plate Class that gets +3 STA per level.

Zerks get +2

SKs/Pallys get the big shaft.

This is not to say hang in there bucco.. its really intended to point out that looking at the game mechanic there will become a time when this is true.. what that means is still unclear. I will let you know when I get to 50.
