Many players never raid.  Others do little else but.  For every skilled and experienced raider out there, there are many who are just starting to venture into the world of Everquest II raid encounters.  Many feel confused, disoriented, and not sure where to go, or how to start.

Our newest staff member Khalan shines some light on the confusing and sometimes scary experience that is raiding.  His first piece for EQ2 Caster's Realm, Raiding It Up, is a great primer for new raiders.  Anyone looking to start exploring raid events should take a look, every raider should know this info!

Additionally, with much thanks to Khalan, we are happy to launch our new raid strategies section.  We will be expanding it as we go, adding more and more encounters to it.  For now we launch with what are often considered the typical 'beginner' instanced raids in tier 5, Arch Lich Udalan, King Zalak the Ancient, Overlord Oxulius, Rognog the Angler and Tremblar the Behemoth.  This is just the start of what we hope will be a very expansive raid strategy library, going all the way up to Godking.  Check out our new raid strategy guide here.

Very interesting guide. I haven't done much raiding other than a few for heritages and some smaller targets. One thing that isn't really explained is what a "memory wipe" actually is. From the name it sounds like the mob forgets its hate list and resets everyone to zero?

That's my bad and I apologise. I sometimes get so carried away, I totally forget my audience may not be the most experienced, I'll be sure to clear that up. Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Liz *hugs*

If I manage to make 1 new Raider with all my ramblings then it's 100% worth it to me.

Arthais has me chained to my laptop so hopefully I'll have some more new material for you next week. :smileyvery-happy:

One of the reasons I'm very glad to be showcasing these articles and guides is because it seems to be somewhat hard to find out there.  I come from a raiding background in EQ1, and had the luxury of figuring this stuff out as I went, but it seems many guilds who are into raiding now expect a lot of these things to be "known".  And...well...if those that raid want it known first, and you have to raid to learn it, how is that possible?
