![]() So normally I'd post things in the Homeshow forum... but since this is technically a dungeon, I thought I'd share it here if anyone is interested in seeing. It's a shame you have to be lvl 20 to go visit dungeons on other servers This is my very first dungeon and I had a lot of fun with it! I know I still have a lot to improve upon, but it's a start. The time limit to finish it really got me in the end. And since I didn't do dungeons before the announcement, I spent a lot of time farming tokens to try for some limited spawners that were the specific look I was after. A HUGE thank you to Meaghan on CB for placing the last Lich(Assassin) mob for me! I was after that for so long and it just wasn't in the cards (or 65+ bosters!) for me to get it. Without that mob I wouldn't have published at all, so I appreciate you placing it I appreciate any feedback from those who were able to run it so that I can make the next one better. I did learn a few things about placing mobs just before thresholds to hold a player back a minute for the next room to load properly. I'm sure I need to work on dynamic mob groupings and such, so tips are always welcome. Anyways, here's a walkthrough of the dungeon Location: Crushbone Server - Poet's Palace Layout - "Search for the Sorcerer's Stone" Looking back at the door entering the dungeon, there's a book to the left with info on the overview of the zone. Inside of the first room. Fluffy the 3-headed dog awaits. The musical instrument to calm him lies broken on the floor, so your only option is to fight or quickly jump down the trap door to the room below! looking down the trapdoor When you jump down, you land in a pile of Devil's Snare! The You must fight through the plants to make your way to the hallway. The first hallways leading down, beware of lurking spiders. first hallway landing and some castle rats! taking the second slope down to the next main room The flying key room. Watch out for some transfigured keys ready to attack! There are broom ready to ride to catch a key, but it looks like the next door has been left slightly open allready. The next room contains a larger-than-life sized chess board. Beware the transfigured pieces ready to stop you on your way! If you make it past the chessboard, you then head through a set of couble doors into an upward slanted hallway. Watch out for rats comming out of their hole-in-the-wall and spiders lurking around the doorways The room at the end of the hall holds a very confused troll. ((Book people, I thought it would be more fun to fight him than just have him knocked out on the floor The next room stops you in your tracks as black flames stop your path forward and purple flames keep you from heading back. Solve the riddle on the table to dink the right potion and pass through the black flames. (Or, just kill the black flames :p In pic it jsut looks like a circle of rocks, but battle graphics appeas as a black cloud of smoke.  In the final chamber, you confront Professor Quirrell trying to retrive the Sorcerer's Stone from the Mirror of Erised. You must defeat him! Yes, that's the stone in your pocket! A ghostly form of Voldemort confronts you at the end, but you are sure the battle is not over and will continue another day.

![]() WOW!! That's awesome. I will be going as soon as they unchain me from this brewing stump! Btw, what did you use for the "Devil's Snare" below the trap door? It looks terrific. I love the chess board too. Very well done, I can't wait to go there. |

![]() Thank you so much! The 'Devil's Snare' is the T10 carpenter recipe for Decorative Vines, lots of them turned in all directions.

![]() Absolutely fantastic job! I wish I had a toon on your server right now lol. I've done a few HP themed dungeons on Oasis, some of which have gotten good play from other folks. If you are on Oasis, and like HP themed dungeons, I have the following: "Siege at the Wizards School"-fight your way through classrooms (potions, defense against the dark arts, divination) to face the Dark Lord. "Ministry of Magic"-dark wizards have taken over....dementors and dragons are loose! I started some others, but have yet to finish them. Again, to the OP, it looks amazing. Great job! |

![]() I honestly didn't even know you could do this sort of thing in dungeon maker! You really can't even tell it's a poet palace dungeon except for a few effects. Very nice job indeed. I did some Harry Potter themes in my dungeon also. I didn't have nearly the depth of work as you put into the decoration. I love being able to see so many great dungeons produced! And I am actually playing them when I can. If I were on the crushbone server, I would defintely check your dungeon out! I may have to make a char there just to do it. If anyone one is on Permafrost, the one I made is called Djinn Rummy's Magic Academy. It has some aspects of Harry Potter, but more tongue-in-cheek. For example, "Harry Rotter" is a wood elemental, and you'll find characters like Dumbledwarf, Mad-Guy Moodie...etc. It is NOT a solo dungeon! I should've mentioned that in the contest entry LOL. Take a group and expect a lot of action. 3 bosses, lots of elites. So far, I've only been able to get through and keep one person alive the whole way, not the whole group yet. That is part of the challenge. But the exit and entrance is in the middle so it is a quick run back to play if you die. No AOEs in the courtyard...just a warning. This is where the end is and some surprises.

![]() Great job! It was elegant and (deceptively) simple. Putting the vines on the floor was smart and the chess room was really nice.

That sounds hilarious! I totally wish I could come check it out right now. My dungeon is sparse on mobs. It's very solo friendly mostly because my daughter loved running through "Harry Potter's Castle" and it had to be something she wouldn't get squished in =P Total, it's only like 22 marks. intoXILE wrote:
Oooh, that sounds like fun! I'd love to see your decor there and really wish we could tour dungeons at lvl 1 on other servers. I did a house zone a while ago for the Ministry of Magic and can totally envision mobs there too. If I get some free time I'll probablly start a character on Oasis and work it up now, jsut because I want to see your HP places too

I ran your dungeon tonight and had a lot of fun. (Just don't ask how long I was there :p ) You're right, it's NOT a solo run LOL I did it though! Took many attempts in places, but it was worth it. I got lots of giggles out of your names I still need to get a chance to roll a character on Oasis to go play those

![]() I saw your message about running through the Magic Academy. My husband and I are both impressed you made it solo Keep making dungeons! You have some great ideas. I am already thinking of a new one, but I'll be a while making it. It will take a while to get it right. And I need an item or two from the Nights of the Dead festival quests. Feel free to send me a note on permafrost if you have any new ones. I may not see the messages here.
