![]() EDIT 5/29/12: These are all on Antonia Bayle server There was some discussion of this issue in the thread titled "Dungeon maker completely broken" here: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=517573 I'm starting a new thread with what I hope is a very specific title in the hopes that it gets some attention and acknowledgement. I spent some time entering dungeons and have listed below the layout, dungeon name, and outcome of respawn after death. I basically just went in and then ran awhile until collected a lot of enemies and died. What I noticed so far is that Chardok and possibly LoS 2 and 3 appear to consistantly respawn you at the default location of the dungeon entrance and Lair of Scale 4 consistantly sends you to the black place. I had run You shall not pass! and Help feed the Dragons! multiple times with no respawn issues before this bug appeared (around the time of the game update). Crushbone Layout 1 - Emporium of very bad things - ok Lair of scale 1 - 200 tokens easy in and out - ok Lair of scale 1 - Pargattal's Lair - ok, entrance in default location Lair of Scale 1 - Hobbit's nightmare - ok dungeon start was in default location Lair of Scale 2 - Lilpaw's Third Try!!! - respawn not right near dungeon entrance, but in same room Lair of Scale 3 - The mines of meldrath the malignant - respawn different place happens to be next to exit Lair of Scale 4 - You shall not Pass! - black place respawn Lair of Scale 4- Foggy Bottom - black place respawn Lair of scale 4 - Mirtle of Candy Land - black place respawn Lair of Scale 4 - Help Feed the Dragons! - black place respawn Lair of scale 4 - Orynn's mind - black place respawn Chardok 1 - many mobs solo - ok dungeon start was in default location Chardok 1 - Never Quest - respawn different place than by dungeon start Chardok 1 - Forest Adventure - ok dungeion start was in default location

Foggy Bottom (on AB) is my dungeon (thanks, msgnomer, for at least giving it a try); as my first dungeon, I left the entrance where it was when I first zoned in. I went back last week to run it, wanting to earn some Dungeon Marks without having to figure out a new dungeon's strategy, and got myself killed with a stupid pull in the Summer Maze Room. Yes, I respawned in a "black place" -- tried all kinds of things trying to figure out if my screen froze or just what (as I've had problems with crashing to the BSoD in dungeons). And yes, when I finally gave up and used the /house command to leave, I had a quick glimpse of the dungeon again before returning to where I was when I entered. I later ran through my other dungeon -- a Crushbone layout called Skittles -- Taste the Rainbow. I had made a circular layout by blocking off branching rooms, and placed the entrance and exit in a small hallway room between two major rooms. I also walled off half of one room (Orange Clockworks) because it was larger than I wanted to decorate/populate. I went the other direction around the circle, starting with the Red Room, and started working the Orange Room, but again, a bad pull got me killed. I "came to" in the walled-off section of the Orange Room, and couldn't figure out how to get out. I even tried aggroing one of the mobs through the wall and let it kill me; same respawn. I was really angry at having spent half an hour to earn my 50 DM, only to lose it all by having to use the /house command to leave. These problems really need to be fixed. There are few enough dungeon runners any more. We can't afford to frustrate them to the point of quitting altogether. |

![]() Has anyone heard anything about when this will be fixed? I was optimistic when it was removed from the Known Bug List, but I just went and tested LoS and the bug still exists.

![]() I noticed a more recent set of bugs with the Poet's Dungeon got a dev response and a compliment to a poster. Perhaps someone could give me feedback on what I need to add to this and my bug reports to get a response on this older set of issues thathave been going on since the last update. I'm willing to document more if I knew what might be needed.

![]() Honestly, I think that the contest is the only reason the Poet's Palace bugs are getting attention. There's no secret, sadly. |

If true, that's a shame really. The problems with the old dungeons have already discouraged many from using the affected dungeons. Few want to take a chance on getting halfway through a dungeon and be forced to give up all experience and dungeon marks. Since the respawn bugs didn't exist when the dungeon maker was first released, there are many published dungeons that weren't able to even work around the bugs that appeared around the GU63. Mind you, it's great they feel confidant they can solve all the Poet's Palace issues in a few days. Maybe some of it will even help the issues with the other dungeons too.

Hopefully. I added a bit about this issue and linked to this post in my PP one, not sure if that'll help but here's hoping. I did notice that in your OP you gave examples of specific dungeons that you tried it on but didn't mention which server (guessing it's AB from your sig, but devs probably won't look at that). While I doubt server is the issue, it might help the devs out if they can try to debug the specific ones known to do it. I suggest editing the OP with server info as well. My only other suggestion is to change the OP's subject line to have [BUG] at the beginning. It (hopefully) makes it a bit more eye-catching to the appropriate people. I died a lot in my Poet's Palace layout yesterday and couldn't reproduce it there, but I'm currently working on a Lair of Scale layout dungeon as well so it's a bit discouraging to think that all my work may go to waste. They need some serious bug bashing with DM! |

![]() Cyliena wrote: ... Good suggestions. I edited the original post. You wouldn't reproduce the LoS 4 black dungeon respawn issue in the Poet's Palace as that version of the respawn bug appears to be unique to that layout (although I'm not certain I've tried all layouts). The other respawn bug is simply to return you to the default entrance location, and that's the version the Poet's Palace and some other layouts have. Even if the developers have some reason for not wanting to respond to any posts I make, I'd be happy to see an update on the non-poet dungeon issues somewhere, anywhere.

![]() THANKYOU! THANKYOU! THANKYOU! Todays patch fixed the LoS4 respawn issue (and I'm assuming the respawn issues for other layouts). Some of my favorite dungeons were the LoS4 layout. Yeay!!! I hope these fixes get people back to trying the dungeons - including ones they might have been bounced out of in the past. Lots of good dungeons out there you can now die in and keep going! Thankyou!

![]() Can you imagine how good this game could be if the content that is actually played by the majority of players got the same attention to fixes and bugs that DM gets?

You are joking, right? The respawn bug appeared at GU63 and only now has this one issue been fixed. Week after week I've watched patches come out with fix after fix for new high level and raid areas and gameplay. The result of the delay in fixing this is that more and more people said they wouldn't play until this was fixed. There's another group that won't play until they can play with their avatars, but that isn't there yet. The result was that dungeons had ground to a slow crawl (no pun intended) both in creation and playing. The Poet's dungeon layout DID get pretty fast fixes because the contest was begun for that layout. I assumed the contest was started as a incentive to get players to design something for the underutilized Poet's layout that had been introduced after people already had started given up on the buggy dungeons. So really, you better hope that content that YOU play doesn't get the same treatment dungeon maker has gotten up until this first set of bug fixes to DM. Seriously. BTW, if someone is paying the price to play the game as released to the public, they have every right to expect bugs to be fixed, no matter what part of the current game they play. That is true whether its the new zones for high end raiders, or new players starting in the newbie zones, or people playing a recently added feature like Dungeon Maker.
