Seems no one posts on the brigand forums anymore and just want to get an idea of the amount of people who actually still take this class seriously.  It still needs alot of help and seems to get screwed over time and time again.  We bring nothing to groups other than defense reduction, have no group buffs, and need all the help we can get from group mates in order to perform the way we should be.  We generate more hate than most classes and have limited control over it. Would be really nice if our version of Evade dropped us 1 position or you gave us a substantial hate xfer. Several of our CAs are outdated and need serious love (for example but not limited to Shennanigans, Barroom Negotiation, Double up, Blackjack, Stunning Blow, THUGS!).  The CC based abilitys of the brigand are obviously useless in raids and should be changed to be more effective.  There is also this trend of raid content not being effected by Traumatic Swipe, and a good percentage of AEs are not avoidable.

Also i think alot of the Defensive type abilitys the brigand has needs to be improved.. you make brigs out to be like the closest scout class to a tank yet 50% of our abilitys are MUST BE BEHIND/FLANKING. 2 Taunts, no Death Prevents, 1 Snap and CC that doesnt last long enough in heroic encounters. I currently see no reason that a brigand would spec into a fully defensive stance and perhaps use one of the many scout shileds that have been dropping.

Brigs need a little overhaul.. please... make us mean again.  make us tougher.  give us some survivability and let us bring something to our groups.

Have to agree with a lot of the points here. The class does need a lot of attention and the only reason I really stick with it is my love of it.

For a long time I've dismissed these flaws and pressed on to make the best of the situation but with raiding I'm hitting a few serious walls with other dps scouts flying right past. Personally I'm going to keep sticking with it but it really would be nice to see a few things improved. Thugs, Shenanigans, Traumatic Swipe and for the love of all things good fix CA's that break DOM!

Our raid leader says when I'm not there, zone-wide DPS drops by about 150k (we do 600k-750k on average zone-wide).  I do 60k-ish outright so the other 90k is the result of my debuffs.  If I got parse credit for it I would always be #1 on the parse.  Please note this is zonewide for EM raids, wearing mostly EM x4 gear.Factor in the ability to reduce the mob's AoE radius by 30%, a d*** good intercept/self power regen and a three-trigger damage reduction/hate reducer for overzealous warlocks - plus other, lesser utility abilities - and there is no doubt that brigands are one of the best raid classes going.  For less than epic encounters our CC abilities (Walk the Plank, stun, stun, stun) can really help an undergeared/underplayed tank keep the mobs turned the right way and planted right in front of him.Brigands are not the guys they throw ticker-tape parades for.  Our DoM will never equal the big hits that wizzies or assassins are capable of, and our lack of AoEs means you have to jump around like a hyperactive mongoose if you want to do any decent DPS on group encounters.  It's a challenging class to play well and you get little recognition when you do.  It's not for everyone.

Good stuff there Leophage. I would like to comment on some things you said. you noted that we have the ability to reduce the AOE range of mobs by 30%. This most definately needs to be improved because nowadays Boss AOE damage is ZW, so you will get hit regardless. Another thing, save your Beg for Mercy for yourself for when you have no way of knowing that your AR is on or not because you can only see 30 maintained icons at a time. But yes i do agree we are the top for defensive debuffs. 9.5% HP reduction is nice. As far as all the Heroic positives you sighted, I'm a raider, i want CC in raids or the CC is useless to me.

Improve the skills.  Allow more than 30 Maintained visible. and please increase the time limit on DOM to compensate for the serious lag you have us endure. -Xarc

rogue-tank(Especially brigand) is completely meaningless.

STA of rogue AA should be changed.

I enjoy playing my Brigand.  Alot of changes could be made to make the Brigand more appealing but I play mine for the challenge of certain encounters.  Brigands definitely don't sit there and button mash in place.  Moving around, stunning and other strategies make the Brigand a fun class to play.
