Do Spawners drop from gray con mobs?

I have found a few spawners. So far they have only come from mobs that are giving me XP for the kill, but I see they are body drops, not chest drops. So, can a spawner drop from a gray con mob?

I have gotten many spawners from grey mobs.

Thanks, you are right. I've picked up a few from mobs way below my level now. Thanks for the advice.

You can get off any mob, but it seems in my experience that the drop rates are better if they are worth exp
