Launcher repeatedly stalling

After repeated failures at getting the AoD update to install I decided to uninstall and do a complete reinstall.

I have the full launcher set to do a new install to the default location, but it keeps hanging at "Creating LegendsOfNorrath/effects.rcc"

I have cleared my download cache and rebooted numerous times with no luck. I have uninstalled what little it has been able to install and started over numerous times, it still hangs at the same file.

I am running Windows Vista 64bit.

I have no desire to use the streaming client.

Still having an issue with the installer hanging.

It may not actually be hung but just taking a long time, how long have you let it sit?

Also, make sure your game is located under the C:UsersPublic path (or something unprotected that you created it). Relocate it there if it isn't.

I'm having the same issue, but stalling at Creating LegendsOfNorrath/sounds.rrc Was there every any resolution for this issue? How long should it take? I've been waiting about 30 minutes.

Also, I'm installing it in my old eq2x folder, and it says it's downloading the whole game (14,001MB), why is it doing that?

You need the Streaming LaunchPad for that transition.

However, I do recommend the Full Assets (what you are using) LP over it if time permits.

Nevermind, it just takes a really long time.

Thanks for the info though, I'll do the full client.
