![]() I just installed the game and ran the launcher. I get to the splash screen and get a window showing 'trying to connect to server #*', and it runs thru 6 servers 2 times. Then i get the message 'could not connect to server. servers may be busy try again later'. I am able to get in on another computer so it is not a router issue. Have run as admin, in compatable mode, down graded IE9 - IE8, switched between IE8 and chrome after not being able to redown load in IE8, reinstalled 3 times full and streaming versions, even reinstalled from original 7yr old disk, adjusted UAC, adjusted internet setting, reinstalled flashplayer to latest version, and 100 other things. Any ideas? Dell XPS 630I, 6G ram, 2quad dual core, Vista 64bit, dual Radeon hd 4800. Been running 5 or 6 MMO's with no issues on this machine. |

![]() We need to get back to square one first. Were all of your separate installations to different folders or the same folder? The older patch methods and our current full download version LaunchPad 3 keeps all game files in the PAKS folder. I recommend moving that folder to another location temporarily. Delete the entire EQII folder, reinstall our full download LaunchPad then move the PAKS folder back in. Once thats all cleared up and you have a fresh LaunchPad installed with the PAKS folder intact, we'll see what we can do to get around any errors you encounter.

![]() Thanks for the quick reply. I am downloading the full version again but it will take a couple hours. I have installed to a newly created folder each time except the last which i let it default to the Userpublic folder. Each time i completely uninstalled and deleted EQ2 from everywhere I could find a reference. Folders, Users, and Program files. Then I ran a registry cleaner to clean up any links. Will post results after next reinstall. |

![]() I finished the setup and I still get the "trying to login to server #*" box which runs thru the servers twice and fails to connect as before. I'm still missing something. |

![]() Open a support ticket and attach the results for the test outlined below. Post the incident number once it is opened. Make sure to include a description of the issue in case another tech picks it up before I get to it. I need you to bring up a run dialog box. You can do this by pressing and holding the Windows key on your keyboard and tapping the R key. In the box that pops up I need you to type cmd and press Enter (If you're using Windows Vista/7 press ctrl-shift-enter). This is going to bring up an old “DOS box” don’t worry it’s just text. You’ll need to type in the following commands one at a time. Remember to put spaces between all the words, unless there’s a special character like / or . in front of the word. Then you’ll want to keep that symbol and the word together. If you’re having a lot of trouble you can also just copy and paste the text out of this email and into the DOS box. These commands can take a while to run so please wait for the blinking cursor to appear since you won’t see any output to your screen. For the pathping commands you might even want to go grab some coffee, or a sandwich between lines. So, all set? Here’s the commands: ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txt tracert "your server".everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt (for example: unrest.everquest2.com, antoniabayle.everquest2.com or freeport.everquest2.com) pathping "your server".everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt (for example: unrest.everquest2.com, antoniabayle.everquest2.com or freeport.everquest2.com) If you’re curious what you’re saving for us, try the commands again but without the >’s or the stuff after them. Go ahead, I’ll wait… Pretty confusing huh? Don’t worry I speak gibberish fluently and can translate it for you. Ok now that you’re done with that, you’ll have a file on your hard drive called “eq2info.txt”. If you go into your hard drive you’ll find it right in the main folder. To get there, just do that Windows key and R trick from earlier, and type C: and press enter. The file will be in there. Just send that file into me, I’ll translate it and figure out what happened to your connection, then I’ll let you know. No worries it’ll be pretty painless, but we might need you to contact another company if it’s not something on your computer that’s doing this.
