i currently came back to the game and this last weekend i picked my inq up because i used to love it. hes in full mc/ledgendary gear and is sitting at like 100aa?

my issue lately has been power, i find myself burning thru almost all my power quickly especially when my tank is getting rammed in the you know where. i seem to remember somthing about my buffs and aa buff that takes power per sec or somthing but i cant find it now.. so i turned my buffs off and it kind of cleared up but during heavy damage ill flatline... i dont know if  maybe there is somthing im doing wrong or if im just casting to many heals SMILEY any input will be appreciated.

Heh, I was constantly out of power on my inquisitor till I hit 90.  At 90 he rarely runs out of power, but in the lower levels, power potions, drink, totems, etc are nice to have.

You have two buffs that have a constant power drain and another that drains your power fast if you are healing a lot.  the one with the lotto heal on beneficial really eats up your power....dogma... I used to always keep it off while soloing for that reason.  Zealotry, or is it fanatacism now, has a constant power cost as does the cleric EoF starter AA ability, name escapes me atm.

Your tank should slow down alittle bit hehe.

Fanaticism is one of the huge power drains that will cause this.  If you are in group with an enchanter that can feed ya mana, you should be good to go

Fanatacism, Yaulp and Dogma all drain signifigant power. Yaulp increases only your DPS, so if you are not DPSing make sure it is off. Inquest will proc power for you. Make sure you put it on a groupmate or yourself when solo.

OP: This is accurate.

Also...

The Inq tree AA bubbles that decreases Fanatacism power cost, boosts power & rate you get from Inquest will help as well.  Don't forget that the bigger your abilities are (heals attack etc.) the shorter fights will be for the same power cost.

Later with 130+ Crit bonus and potency the same abilities that cost a certain amount of power will need to be cost less often.  Gear with focus effects etc. make your same power cost that much more efficient as well later.  Some of the passive stuff like adorns and battle dressing as well as punishments upgrades will reduce the power consumption load as you will find yourself needing to spam heal less.

Also, don't forget to debuff with deny, condemn, and forced obedience (and skull crack etc. while you're at it).  I found when I didn't have all my toys when I came on the way up (25-68 ) I didn't feel as 'behind' when trying to heal a tank when I dropped the mob's THACO, avoidance, and effective potency while increased the group's THACO and damage output.

If I just tried to spam all the heals I was always behind and out of power.  Interupting a mob, knocking a mob back, putting it on it's knees (Repentance), etc. lowers it's DPS and helps you use less heals and not run out of power so quickly.

The game plays entirely different at 90 with gear than it does in the 50s.  My suggestion would be not to run with Fanaticism unless you have the AAs to improve it by reducing power cost by 50% or fights are short.

The reactive spells are your friend if enemies are hitting hard enough to warrant casting them, otherwise they're probably power suckers too.  If your heal triggers on reactives are far bigger than what the mob is doing in damage you're wasting a lot of power casting them until the tank is lower on health and can feel more of the full benefit.

Master / Expert each version of Inquest ASAP.  If you cannot afford this, at least get an Adept somehow.  As soon as you're 70+ go for the 5% flat trigger chance improvement in the Inq tree.

yaulp was the one i was lookin for the tooltip no longer states that it eats power you have to check the buff on yourself to see where it says that. anyway all my heals are master/expert. but my biggest issue is that even when power is not an issue keeping up with heals is such a pain vs my fury. the reactives and point heals just arent getting it done and im in all the master crafted lv52 healy gear etc adorned etc i try prioritizing my heals but if big damage starts inc i just cant keep up.. gear/spec are all geared towards healing and i never get a chance on the big damage fights to help dps because im to worried about people dieing. ive almost always played a healy class so its not like im bad at it i just feel weak compared to other classes.... maybe i should just go templar SMILEY

Yes the Inq heals heal less then all other classes per second cast time. But they have the shortest reuse so you can always press a heal. The sad part of this is that you have to do this if things get ugly. The good part is that your heals are the most power effective so you can do so longer then any other class. As you level up you will get more tool to circumvent these problems. At 58 you will get Dogma. That adds an additional heal to any heal you cast. The only problem is, that it is very power intensive. So if you are having power problems now, that might get worse if you keep dogma active at all times. After reaching level 80 you can do the Epic Weapon timeline. The end result will be a buff that increases your fast cast and reuse of heals by 15% and adds all direct heals an additional chance to heal for an additional 50% for 50% of your heals cast (so increasing your heal output by ~25%). But the best you can do ans an Inq is not to ever get in the situation where you can only chain cast heals. You should use your debuffs as they can really reduce the incoming damage by a lot. Doing so can change an unbeatable mob to a easily beatable mob. Deny reduces the damage all abilities a mage or fighter mob does (~80% of all mobs are mages of fighters). Forced Obedience reduces the number of hits your tank will take. And last, but not least Repentance stuns the mob several times after it does a special attack giving you time to heal the damage of the attack. Vs multiple mobs that is not so easy as the best two debuffs are single target, but at least you can use your single target reactive in rotation with the two single target heals to have an immense hps output on a single target. If your primary focus is plain healing and you have someone leveling with you betraying to Templar will really increase your heal output right now and it will give you more emergency tools. But solo leveling will take quite a bit longer. SMILEY
