Hi everyone, been playing EQ2 for a week now, I really like it so far, but I cannot figure out why the following is occuring.

When I kill a mob it says I gain xp however my bar does not even move one bit, I get no blue squares. Then I kill the next mob and It moves like 2 blocks or something. Then I kill another one and it doesnt move again. I am not sure why it seems to be moving only on some kills and not on others.

The mobs are not grey I understand that much. I am level 16 and the mobs I am killing are level 19, they are orange.

Thanks for the info.

The bar fills up at certain percentage points. The XP you gain from one kill is added to the XP from another kill and then the bar moves when a certain amount which is a percentage of the whole needed is reached.

Also, the bar is a graphical representation of the numeric XP value.  Meaning that it is an estimate.  Sort of like when you are downloading something on the computer where there is a percentage number and a percentage bar.  They don't always sync up.  But the XP gained is saved, not thrown away or lost as a whole and then the numeric XP needed to next level is reached you will ding.

If you hover your mouse over the XP bar you'll see a pop-up that will show the Pergentage number.  that number should be more accurate then the bar itself, although they might be tied to the same value.  In either case its not much more than a server-client lag issue and should purely be graphical.

There is a certain sweet spot on your exp bar (near the end) that you can hover your mouse over to see your current experience and the amount of experience needed to gain the next level. Just check it after every kill to see if the amount of your current experience is increasing per kill or not.
