The title of this thread is from the Test Update Notes. Would someone explain it to me please ?

It sounds like 'you do not share stats with an NPC that you charm'.

If this is the case then this how does this affect Possess Essence ?

If PE pets are affected by shared stats but charmed pets are not then you might as well ditch coercer charm.

To me it sounds enemies also got these stats and since some have crazy big stats, they became too powerful so they fixed it.

Yep, sounds like they added the conversion and the mobs with buffs that gave +1000 DPS (They had a habit of doing this to ensure debuffs couldn't render them irrelevant) suddenly became god-mode.  So they stopped it from applying to them.
