help installing eq2!! errors with station launcher!!

i got a new pc and downloaded the station launcher, now i keep getting failures and can not get the game to start... keep getting the following failure... please help!!

C:programfiles/everquest2/lp-temp/ui/default/eq2ui-global-marketplace.xml.

right click SL icon, run as administrator, first go into thr directory indicated and delete that file from it

There's a couple of other posts around about that specific file suggesting that the remote manifest posted on the server is wrong. It needs manually unpacking to get past the issue.

We will work towards repairing Station Launcher issues such as those described above but we do recommend using our latest LaunchPad for Everquest II available using the link below.

There is a Full and Streaming version. Upgrading from Station Launcher is done most efficiently with the Full version. You can select your existing Station Launcher folder to avoid redownloading the game again and only brief updates to convert the patch method.

and exactly how do you tell the 12.4 GB full download to only d/l the launcher program and not the whole 12.4 GB??

The full version of the LaunchPad works really well...better than the old Station Launcher imho. I don't much care for the streaming version though.

That may be the case for that portion of the functionality that it actually covers. However, for those of us that rely on the other features moving from Station Launcher to LP3 is a massive downgrade.

When you run the installer, select Install a new Copy, and direct it to your existing folder if it has already downloaded data.

The only method that will not work is going from LP3 streaming to LP3 full as they do not share a file structure and the Full version will prompt the game to download everything.

downloaded & installed new launcher. chose new install like you stated. when i run the patcher it starts the file check gets to 100% & reruns the check several times before it actually starts any updating. it will say 10.4 of 11.2GB run for a few mintues then i get the error code: 1012

Disable any firewall/antivirus/security software and try it again. Make sure you are launching the patcher as an admin by right-clicking it and selecting run as admin. Error 1012 is fairly specific.
