There was a problem decompressing the file C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempLegendsOfNorrathLegendsOfNorrath.dll_delta_10509_126.gz.

Some people has said to delete the file and it may work but it hasnt worked for me. Is SOE working on this and maybe they can fix it on their end or are there any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Are you deleting the delta file or the original it is trying to patch?

The file is located in your EQ2 game folder under LegendsofNorrathLegendsofNorrath.dll

Our support for Station Launcher itself is very limited and we do recommend making the transition to our latest Full or Streaming LaunchPad available below.

I had the same issue. I was trying to delete the wrong LoN file - I have 2 copies since one was where the original EQ2 launcher placed it, and the other one where the Launcher i updated a few months ago placed it. I think that they were in, Program Files and Program Data...... Now I've deleted both, the launcher seems to be working fine. SMILEY

Streaming will allow you to play while it downloads the game.  The full version will not let you play until the 12.6GB+ download of the game files completes.

However, a quick way to find your Station Launcher installation would be to right-click the SL icon and select Open File Location.  It is usually found in the hidden folder C:ProgramDataSony

Delete the file it could not decompress in the paks folder (not lp_temp, though you can safely delete this whole folder as well). Same goes for any of these issues. It should come up with an error and display the file that needs deletion. Also everyone should run a full file scan.

Instructions for Successful Patch:

  1. Run the Launcher as ADMIN (Right Click Option)
  2. CANCEL the upadate.
  3. Run a FULL FILE SCAN                                  - (Station Launcher) Games (Menu at the Top) -> Game Preferences -> EverQuest II (Option on the Left Hand Side) -> Full File Scan (Button in the Middle of the Screen).                                 - (EverQuest II Launcher) Options (Button at the Top) -> Clear Cache (Button down the Bottom).
  4. Delete ANY files it cannot decompress from their directories (please see examples below).
  5. If all else failes, reinstall the launcher and start again.

Possible locations for EverQuest II Installation (Hold WindowsLogo Key + R to Open These Locations Quickly):

32BIT Windows / X86 -

C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II

Station launcher will try again after 5 seconds.

... and then it cycles over and over. I have restarted the launcher several times as well and it is up to date ( it updated upon the first log-in attempt ).

In this instance the file you need to delete is: EverQuest IILegendsOfNorrathLegendsOfNorrath.dll

Had the same problem, deleted the .dll file and the launcher resumed... now it tells me it cannot decompress the file C:ProgramDataSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverquest IIlp_temppaksexp03_dun_hollow_stump_sg.vpk_delta_1 0455_21. I've deleted this file several times, the updater redownloads it, but it still will not decompress. HELP!

In this instance the file you need to delete is: EverQuest IIpaksexp03_dun_hollow_stump_sg.vpk

Tried to log into my live account, so I can arrange to copy a character over to Freeport, but the download cancels immediately after file scan.

Dumped IE cache files. Deleted the LegendsOfNorrath folder. Dumped the logs and cache files in EQ2. Running as Administrator in Win7 x64.Logging in, no problem. Soon as the files get some scanning, immediate "download cancelled".

Looked for an error in the "EverQuest2Patch.log.001" patcher log, found this:[22:28:59] Patcher: Downloading Distribution Main Distribution ------------------[22:28:59] Patcher: Downloading qey_catacomb_epic04_SG.vpk [dloadsize=26339; totalsize=26339; crc=-1599506127][22:28:59] Patcher: PatcherZipper error(42,0,-3): (null)[22:28:59] Patcher: DownloadFileEx failed (42) on url=http://eq2.patch.station.sony.com:80/patch/eq2/en/patch1/main/paks/qey_catacomb_epic04_SG.vpk_delta_5.gz[22:28:59] Patcher: Error with partial patch, cancelling immediately. File: qey_catacomb_epic04_SG.vpk

Deleted all my vpk (voice packs) and downloading again. With a 1MB connection, this will probably be done sometime next week. Will see where the next error fails at.

In this instance the file you need to delete is: EverQuest IIpaksqey_catacomb_epic04_SG.vpk
