Just noticed that in our guild chat it no longer displays when people log in and log out.

There a setting for this?

Yes there is, it is one the guild screen, each member has the choice of letting guildmates know if they logon or out of the game

weird.. i just checked and that box is not checked to "not display guild events"

checking the box to not display guild events only effects  your characters actions. If another player has theirs checked it will not display their actions to you. but will not stop yours from displaying to them.

"The don't generate guild events for this character" button doesn't affect log in/out. Even if that is checked the rest of the guild should see you logging in/out. That button just stops guild events from being broadcast/recorded.

I believe there's an option in the guild settings that the leader mucks around with.

Maybe they got tired of people playing in BGs and the log in/log out spam and turned it off.
