![]() I am getting an update error when I try to launch EQ2. The errors says, "There was a problem confirming the size of the file C:ProgramDataSonyOnlineEntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest IIlp_tempUIDefaulteq2ui_mainhud_tutorial.xml." Any help for me? |

go nto the directory indicated and delete the file in quesiton, you may have to go into windows explorer settigns and allow viewing of hidden files since Program data is by default a hidden file. the try to run the patcher again, one other thing to try after doing the first part is right click, run as administrator

![]() Thanks for the reply but nothing worked. I'm currently logged in as the administrator but still tried to shift r-click and run as admin which failed with the same error. I also turned on show hidden files which allows me to get to the file in question. Each time the update fails the file is renamed to a .gz extension. I renamed it back to see if that would help, it didn't. I then deleted the entire file, same error. The file was recreated with the .gz extension. |

![]() I had the exact same error message you did and I had to talk with someone on live chat to fix it or at least get around it. If you haven't gotten it fixed yet, basically all I did was a full file scan from the original eq2 launcher and after it went through all that I was able to get in game. |

this happens a lot because th UAC model that W7 utilizes, while it is a lot better then Vista it still shares some of the problems. Been using this type of model since Vista was in closed beta and have not had an issue 1. create a game directory off of the root of the drive - IE C:games 2. off of c:games create another directory c:gamessoe 3. off of c:gamessoe create two directories - c:gamessoestationlauncher and c:gamessoeeq2 4. uninstall the current station launcher, do a fresh install using c:gamessoestationlauncher as the target for the install 5. after installing the launch, start it again but point the target directory for eq2 to c:gamessoeeq2 this will bypass the security measures in place for Program Files and Program Data As I mentioned I have een running this model since Vista was in closed beta, my only difference is I have 3 copies of the eq2 directory for when I tri-box.
