purchasing the full game for family...

I would like to purchase the full game but I wonder if I would then need to spend almost the same amount to get the expansion in Feb.?

Are we able to purchase the game now (For Christmas) and be able to play and have the expnsion when it comes out avialbe?

No , you'd have to buy the expansion in Feb as well.

Well I guess SOE lost out. There are other games I can buy for him that will not require him to spend 40$ in a month and a half.

If you wait until February and buy Destiny of Velious generally they include the base game and all previous expansions with it and I'm pretty positive they'll do it this time around as well.

like wow where if I recall correctly requires you to purchase all the expansions and the base game seperately?
