Please provide a way for new and returning players to acquire teleportation pads.  With what can be done with housing these days, we are missing out on utilizing a significant amount of content when it comes to home building because we cannot get these items anymore.  Please tie them into a reocurring event or add a quest line.  Its simply not fair that new players do not get to experience such a significant portion of the game.

@devs/patchers

You forgot to patch this hotfix on german servers...

GENERAL

  • Fixed a client crash condition.

ITEMS

  • Most single target effects that proc off of beneficial spells should no longer clutter up the maintained spells window.

POPULATION

  • All of the guards at the Academy of Arcane Science in North Freeport are now level 45.

QUESTS

  • Cleansing This Temple Needs...: The void-stalker should now be able to attack the necessary targets to update the quest.
  • Certain tarantulas in the Sinking Sands will once again attack certain skittish scarabs. This fixes the Beetle Herding quest line.

It's not *THAT* significant a portion of the game. There will be more live events down the line where players will get a chance to earn them. I don't think it's fair that new players can't experience the original Starter Islands and actually start in Qeynos and Freeport. That's far more significant than teleportation pads for someone's house, but it doesn't seem like that'll be changed anytime soon, if at all.

The teleportation pads have already been part of 2 world events, so I'm pretty sure they'll be part of more of them in the future.

I have to say they are not at all a significant part of the content in the game. They are a part of the new decorating thing, but they aren't the end all be all of decorating. The addition of the ability to save & load layouts and the layout editor are a much much larger part of decorating now.

If you want some so bad, find someone who stocked up on them (I'm sure a lot of people did, I know I bought more than I am currently going to need) and see if they are willing to part with a couple. They are no trade but much like all other no trade house items, they can be placed in someone else's home.

Well thats subjective to what you enjoy doing in the game.  But it completely removes the ability to 'break out' of many houses and actually get enjoyment from creating an environment that you otherwise cannot do without those pads.  So yes, it removes content (even if unintentional) from new and returning players.

Just remember, SoE doesn't condone the act of breakin out of your house. It's not against the rules, but they aren't going to do anything if your furniture gets bugged and ends up some place where you can't retrieve it. If players were ment to access the outsides of thier houses, SoE wouldn't design walls to keep you in.

So if you think about it, players aren't missing out on game content, because it was due to an exploit of sorts that players even are. As I said, there will no doubt be live events in the future where players can get more teleport pads. Until then, they'll just have to wait.

New players never had it so they wont miss it.

Returning players should have stayed active and would then have had access while they were available.

They will be available in the future.

So basically you're insisting on having access to items that will allow you to exploit a flaw in the housing zones, enabling you to do something that was never intended by developers. Excellent rationale, sir.

Actually, I believe you can break out of any of the houses without teleporters, as that's the way it was done to begin with.  Of course, the teleporters are a huge convenience in this processl.  I only bring this up because, although it might be a bigger pain without the sweet little pads, it shouldn't actually stop you from getting out.

I agree that there ought to be a way to get these items, and I suspect there probably will be a way to get them once again, but it would be nice to be able to count on a date.  Maybe Sanya Farshore, who sells the general goods at the city festivals, could be persuaded to check into stocking them?  I'll bet she'd do a nice business with that item!

I'd also love to have another option to get some, when i returned "first time" one of my guildmats lent me one pair by putting them in my house so i could use them to build my first big fishtank and make sure that not only small characters can enter my kitchen. I was so very thankful and surprised about it, considering that teleporters aren't easy to get.

After my second break the druid ring event was nearly finished, but i managed to get 4 pairs-  but this is still...not enough. I returned the pair of my guildmate (he's inactiv, couldn't ask him) as it was stated that all lent items will go to the owner of the house they were put in with the merges.

Even the 4 pairs make it very difficult to decide which house should get how many, i could use 8 , or better 9,or 13 >.< then i could lent some to my boyfriend who started "too late"and realize more of my ideas.

edit: at least the halas breakout is working without tp-pads for sure. Spend 4 hours with my illu and 5 carpets climbing my way down to the docks , on the hills and so on, and it wasn't that hard to find a spot to start.

Let me just say first to Galldora, who had the brilliant suggestion to sell transport pads at the City Festivals, amen!!  Too right!  It would be a great incentive to do many, many city writs (and thus garner many, many status points as well) and festival quests if they were like 20 tokens each, like they were for the world events (and WHEN can we expect another world event? did the preview for Velious have one that offered them?).  And it's not just for breaking out; SOE could also argue that with the generous outdoor areas in the biggest houses, we do have "outdoor space" (it's never enough, but...); it's also very useful for merely large houses, such as 6-roomers I've seen in South Qeynos that have the various levels only accessible using t-pads.  Again, this is a design/decoration concept, and should not be limited.

All that said, Layakilie, how did you break out of New Halas housing without them?  Were you in the largest house, with the backyard, and got out through the hole in the rock over the "patio"?  And what carpets did you use?  I found that not all of them are "solid" enough...Tiles and Squares are my friends.

Freely shared, though I'm sure folks already know about this: I broke out of my 6-roomer in South Qeynos by arranging items that got me up to my roof (which has a wonderful large, flat top!).  Once there, I could go down any of the 3 sides (the fourth being the "invisible wall" around my upstairs balcony/patio) and touch down in beautiful "South Qeynos," close to the doors for Qeynos Harbor.  Granted, none of the doors work (I'd need either extensive stairs or t-pads to get back in to the house), the building I broke out of isn't even mine (my address is in Karana Court, on the street with the bank and pet shop), the streets end about halfway to where the door for Antonica would be, and the buildings like to phase in and out, but there are possibilities a-boundin'.

Demonizing players for doing something cool and nondestructive. Sure you aren't from Nagafen?

I think the idea of having this on the city festival at 20 tokens is a great idea.  I wouldn't even mind if they were 50 tokens each as long as they were around consistently.

Good ideaI also think more previously unavailable items should be on the city festival merchant. Stein of recollection, etc
