The wizard portal person in the tier 3 qeynos guild hall is buggy.  It takes several attempts to get the hireling to put up a portal/spire.  Please investigate & fix.  Thank you.

Druid hireling portals, and wizard (player) casted portals are still exhibiting the same behavior as well.

It very much looks like they are still at the absolute end of the rendering queue.  Only once every other object in the guild hall has rendered, will they appear.

Or, of course it, could be something else.  Regardless of the cause, it's very annoying.

Thanks,

-Ken

The portal is one of the last things to render so it can appear to not work.

Being as it's stupid to have to stand there and wait all day... Why doesn't the dev team as a solution: Change the Wizard Portal hireling into a giant portal that's now in the center of every Ulteran Spire in the world. When you click it it immediately opens the map just like the bell. No more asking for a portal to be summoned. -and- Change the Druid portal hireling into the little bush that's now in the center of every druid ring in the world. When you click it, it immediately opens the map just like the bell. No more asking for a portal to be summoned. Using NPCs for this was quaint back when they were first introduced, but with the travel revamp they're now stupidly slow compared to other means of transport, especially in guild halls with a ton of items. I've lost count of the times I've hailed the NPCs and then sat there waiting for the portal to finally appear. This problem gets even worse if you warp around the guild hall with the teleporters. Keep the NPCs as an option if you must, but I seriously doubt many (if any) would use them if an instant-open option was available.

The amenity that formerly was the KoS portal works this way.

Aye, goes all the same places a wizard hireling will send you and costs half as much to buy/upkeep.

Yup, we fired our wizard hireling for just that reason.  Not only was he redundant, but he was a portal throwing slacker as well.

If they activate the little bush in the druid rings the same way, it fits the same basic purpose for druid portals as well, which is a step in the right direction.

But at some point, portal throwing needs to be looked at and fixed.  No reason it should take so long for a wizard or druid (player) thrown portal to appear that it expires and vanishes almost immediatly.
