Oktoberfest Portrait Forum Challenge

To celebrate Oktoberfest in the Bavarian style, we are holding an Oktoberfest Portrait Forum Challenge. All EverQuest II players are welcome to submit their best Oktoberfest-themed screenshots of their character enjoying drinking, dancing, and eating in a tavern or in a tent, keeping with Bavarian traditions.

Duration: Submissions for this forum challenge will be accepted from Friday, September 17, 2010 until Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 10:00 am PDT. (PDT is -7 hours GMT: 11:00 am MDT, 12:00 pm CDT, 1:00 pm EDT, 5:00 pm GMT)

Rules and Submission Details: Before submitting an entry, please review the Official Forum Challenge Rules

Submission Requirements: When submitting your images, the following information is required:

• Title: (One line description of the image)
• Character Name:
• Server:
• Image Link or Embed:

 

• Images submitted can be in the form of in-game screenshot, modified in-game screenshot, or artwork without copyrighted materials included. Do not submit any images that are copyrighted or those that belong to someone else.
• If using screenshots, character names and NPC names should be turned off in the image. Do not include any text in the image. All UI elements must also be turned off. (Use the F-10 key to turn off the UI.)
• The image size must be exactly 800 x 600 pixels. While planning your image keep in mind that the borders of the images may be cropped when they are converted to game art.
• You are permitted to submit updated versions of your image throughout the submission period. The last image submitted will be considered.
• All Finalists will be required to submit an Affidavit and Release statement before being declared a winner.
• If your submission does not conform to these requirements, your entry may be disqualified or you may be asked to resubmit.

 

Rewards: After reviewing all the submissions, winners will be selected from each game. The winners will then receive the following rewards:

• First Place Winners: The winning submissions will be made into in-game paintings and will also receive the Commemorative Trophy.
• Honorable Mentions:   Other submissions may be selected as honorable mentions. Those selected at honorable mentions will receive the Commemorative Trophy.

Note: The rewards have been pre-determined. Substitute rewards will NOT be granted.

In addition, all submissions are subject to be highlighted on the SOE web network.

SOE reserves the right to omit the selection of a first place winner if there are no submissions that meet our requirements as decided by the art team.

i believe i will enter this one! just a quick question(s) about the rules to be clear, if we take a screen, can it include more than one character? Also, is photoshopping of the screen alright? like adding, removing things ect. thanks!

(There seem to be a shortage of in-game paintings featuring Halasians, so I thought I'd try to help fill the gap. )

In all honesty, I'd be pleased tae be chosen a winner.

However, I'd like best tae win from the judges likin' me art, instead o' on account o' other folk overlookin' the size requirements an' gettin' disqualified.

When you post, there should be a small tree icon in the second row of icons above the area where you type.

Click that, you get a pop-up window asking for the image's URL. Paste in the direct link, and accept, and then the picture should appear in the post.

just wanted to say i REALLY like this one...its looks like one of those outside taverns that would be attached to a hotel, or small apartment building with the light of a wonderful full moon and stars right overhead giving wonderful lighting and mood. the characterers in the setting all seem to tell a story of their own on their own right. beautiful.

What happened to the link and the contest rules  there was three days to go.  I told my guild how to enter

and come in to find that the link is gone to the Octoberfest Challenge.  Whats up with this? Several

members were wanting to enter
