![]() I've played a ton of MMOs in my time. I've always played two kinds of classes, pet classes and self buffing fighters. Now, I've gotten the pet class down, I play a Necro and love it. But I am one of those people that get easily bored, so wanted to play a second character. Generally what I like is a fighter class that uses either two weapons or a big freakin' weapon. But most of all what I like is the ability to self heal somehow to minimize downtime, and the ability to self buff. In a recent MMO by Blizzard, for example, I played a Paladin. I had a tiny bit of nuking ability, was stupid hard to kill, and could kill fairly quickly at that. In a previous game by Mythic I played a Warden. Again, self buffing, reliable killing power and the ability to heal. There are so many options in this game, I am not sure what fits the best. Can someone help? (For the record, I prefer playing a Fae or an Arasai. I like the Glide power) |

![]() Either of the Crusaders: Paladin or Shadowknight will fit you well. Last I checked there were at least 3 or 4 players game-wide who don't have a Shadowknight alt or main, so a Paladin might be a bit more unique if you care. Also as to the Glide power, there are other races (the high and dark elves IIRC) who get the slow fall ability of Fae/Arasai at creation via a racial buff. From what I can tell they can glide just about as far as fae, but I haven't tested it. |

![]() Yep, my high elf glides just as far as my arasai, but doesn't have the sweet high jumping |

![]() Some of the higher level mounts have the glide ability now, too. Arasais are awesome, though. I have 3 Arasai alts. =p |

![]() Thanks for all the replies. I started a Dark Elf SK, but I might betray and become a Paladin later on, not sure yet. |

![]() It might be a spec difference, but it seems like SK's just do more damage then Paladins do. My buddy has a paladin in better gear and 10 levels above me and I seem to keep up in damage. As for healing ability, Paladins just do it better. They can outright heal and can heal others. However a SK can keep themselves healed up pretty well if played right, and play the role. The role being a cause of pain and suffering. When I'm running low on health, I find a mob to fight, usually I come out with more HP then I started the fight with. Its one of those classes that needs to keep rolling. The problem with either class is power usage. Paladins are a little more sustaibable if you play them conservatively. SK's may run into an issue until you get mana sieve, which costs no power and increases it by damaging a target. Neither crusader is better then the other, but they do have different playstyles despite having similar roles and tasks. A paladin can play a good support role while the SK is probably going to be the main focus of the group's resources. My personal preference is a SK. There's nothing better if you want a heavily armored toon that can put a hurt on something. While I don't think they are better the paladins (about equal really), I prefer the style of the SK. |
