EQ2 Client will NOT Launch.

ok, so. Ive been playing since release and ive yet to have a problem that i couldnt fix myself. After the last patch, my game refuses to launch. Station launcher will scan, say update is complete, but when i hit launch, nothing happens. Task manager says that the EverQuest2.exe process is running but its not on the application tab.

I have...

Reinstalled the game

Ran a full file scan

deleted eq2.ini

reformatted my hard drive (due to an unrelated issue)

tried to launch directly from the EverQuest2.exe

deleted cache files

I get no errors at all

I dont know what else to try

I have a previous version of the .exe that will launch the game, but of course it tells me to repatch, so im guessing that the newest .exe is for some reason not compatable with my pc. I have no idea why though'

I am getting the same problem. After the Launcher-update several days ago, the launcher starts. EULA. Login. Upgrades. Play-Character. and then the game disapears. Silently. Checking TaskManager shows that the program is still running. Actually if you do it again, There are 2 instances of the game running. Any ideas??

I have NOT gotten the new update. I'm using MS-XP. On a laptop with 4 gig RAM. Have been playing roughly since the start of EQ2.

This is a super weird problem. It only effects one of my characters on one of my two accounts on one of my comps. All other characters log in and play fine and this char plays fine on my laptop. I tried various work arounds that have been posted, but nothing yet works.

i found a fix guys. and its from a player and not soe. go figure

after 2 hours of tech support, i came back to the forums and found this post,

with this wonderfull fix,

Don't click launch, instead, head to your EQ2 folder and find eq2_default.ini. Open it with any text editor.

Delete the whole line, save and close the file.
Headback to Station Launcher, click Launch, you're in.

oh, and Savanja. i think you are having a different problem so i wouldnt mess with your .ini files
