Updating Envinronment Map...

Hello,

I got the game about a month ago and have been playing it fine till last night. I went to log in, I hit play at the character screen and the game starts to load. A few progress screens work (The yellow bar fills up) but when it reaches the "Updating Environment Map" my computer locks up. I can't hit the exit button, to get out of this I have to Control / Alt / Delete and bring up the task manager to let me end the program.

I have tried running EQ as administrator

I have tried to reboot my compter.

I have tried letting it sit there for over an hour to see if it would eventually load.

I have tried waiting over night to see if it was a bug on SOE's end and nothing to do with my comp.

But here I am, still unable to play the game.

Can anyone help me fix this ?

Am I the only one having this problem ?

Umm a couple people where nice enough to answer....I was switching back to look at the posts and then they vanished ???

Can who ever answered this before please post it again?

Are you sure that you were looking at the same topic? I do not see any previous posts here listed....
