![]() For pvp is it better to have a bow with a long delay with big first hit and having a long wait until second shot or a bow with a shorter delay and lower first hit but with quicker shots coming along? Cheers. |

![]() I would prolly go for a bigger hit, 9 second delay bow, most of the bad bows T9 are 1100+ bows. I would prefer Bow of Underfoot from Ritsy Rewards or Wyrm Tendon Longbow, because of the mad proc they have. The Bow of Underfoot has a crushing AoE damage proc of "Inflicts 871 - 1064 crushing damage on target in Area of Effect" on 10% of hits, and the Wyrm Tendon has "Inflicts 1913 poison damage on target." 1.8 times per minute, Both nice little cutlets when dealing with PvP. Granted, these bows can be tricky to get, The Bow of Underfoot is at the end of a quest timeline in Sundered Frontier, and the Wyrm Tendon Longbow is a raid drop. Personally, as an Assassin, if I open with ranged, I open with a CA like Spine or Head shot, let AA go through, and charge in blades blazing. A long or short delay isn't going to affect me unless I need to jaunt out of melee because of damage issues. As a T1 DPS, unless your against a beast tank who can take your punishment like a champ or a healer who just won't die, you should be fine. Those be my 2 cents. ![]() Thank you Kyaaadaa, unfortunately I am lvl 10 atm though I have alts who can mastercraft all my needs. I understand also that it is a no, no, for a ranger to melee and that he should do his best to use his long range ability hence my query about the delay in getting shots off. Thank you for responding, it was good of you to do so. |

Not to mention the bigger hits which will make your opponent stop to heal, run or do something other than damage to you. At level 10-20 you are going to melee alot, there is no way getting around it. Not until your upper 20s (when you get snare and triple) will you start to feel truly rangery. AT those levels, I think your biggest attack is actually a melee invis backstab (forget the name)

![]() Absolutely do not equip any bow that sacrifices range. Distance is your life. If you want to be one of the most dangerous 1v1 Rangers, don't rely on Hidden or Sniper shot. Instead, learn to use snares to their fullest potential, while constantly backing away. Use Ensnare, Snaring Shot, and Fettering Poison, in addition to the Extension AA and all AAs that improve snaring. If done right, they will never get close enough to hit you with a melee attack, especially if they are engaged. With Extension, you can even stay outside of spell range as well. Use your Snare, keep backing away, and let your auto attack wear them down to nothing. Unleash all your CAs once their life is low. I kill almost every Freep I encounter simply by repeating this strategy, and usually without even getting seriously hurt. At lvl 57, I killed a 67 Assassin without the use of Hidden or Sniper Shot, despite him attacking him attacking me first, and without even getting hit with anything other than bow auto-attack (which did nothing). At lvl 58, I killed a 77 Wizard simply by snaring and using Extension to attack from outside his spell range. Never use melee for DPS unless you are certain you can kill the opponent very quickly, or you have no other choice. If they have you in melee range, use your stuns and roots to create distance between you and the opponent. |
