What do you think is better for pve?

Granted... different classes have different requirements. I am an assassin which requires as much damage output as possible. The tier 2 armor will only have 1 proc. An entire set of bg armor and jewelry is 7 or so procs. I also am a non raider.

thanks

Do you really mean BG gear vs 80th Shard gear like you list in your title?  Or BG vs 90th Mark gear?

Versus T4 80th shard gear, many of the BG pieces will be superior for Heroic play.  The BG shoulders won't be viable for PvE, but that's the only piece that's automatically ruled out.

Now against 90th Mark gear, it depends.  BG jewelry and weaponry will still be superior.  But from a dps stand point, many of the T2 Mark pieces will have a greater dps output than the BG pieces.  The advantage of the BG pieces is that you can buy specific ones without having to worry about the RNG.  Also their +Resists are about x2 the values of the T2 Mark gear.  BG gear also has a little better mitigation.

For a Heroic PvE perspective, I'd use BG jewelry (ears, wrists, rings) and PvE jewelry to fill the rest of the slots.  The BG can get you a decent off hand weapon to start out with while you wield your enervated mythical in your main hand.  Then for your armor, I'd run a blend of BG pieces and T2 Mark pieces.

Now once you start seeing Fabled heroic drops, you may start to switch various pieces from the gear description that I listed above.  But my general guide should give you a decent starting point to work with.

Yep i am talking about 80th tier 2 shard armor gear(not mark gear) vs lvl 90 fabled bg gear. Havnt had much time to run WOE for T3 shard gear. I have found myself lately to only have time for BG and the occasional raidgroup. Sitting around and grinding mark quests for armor isnt an option for me.

thanks!

The battleground gear is vastly superior to the L80 T2 shard armour. You will want to find neck and shoulder slot items from PvE though considering the PvP versions are terrible in PvE.

Agreed the T2 armor doesnt come close! The patterns that drop in VP might be as close as your going to get from that expansion.
