![]() Source: Frizznik in this thread. They are changing the T8 shard gear to no long have a requirement of the previous piece to upgrade. For a crafter making a T2 piece that means the buyer only needs to supply the shards. The T1 armor requirement was changed to be simply the common ore. The T3 armor was also changed to not require the T2 piece. There are fewer WoE raids now, so I actually think that this might help us get a little business back in shard gear. People coming up now, will only have to collect shards one time to get some T2 gear and be done. Not sure if it will mean much more work as I think people are saying that T2 and the T9 quest rewards are similar, but it is something at least. |

![]() In my mind this may actually hurt armorers and/or tailors. The T9 armor recipes already pale in comparison to shard gear. Making T2 shard gear easier to obtain will probably hinder us even more. That being said, brellium ore is in scarce supply on LDL at the moment, so people are either using it for 90 BG gear (possible, but unlikely), T9 MC (if so, for appearance or because they don't feel like grinding any shards), harvest depots (higher chance) or resist jewelery (highest chance seeing as T9 armor has no resists). Ah well. Role with the punches I say!

![]() Resist Jewelery because T9 Jewelery, not armor has no resists. I've made well over 100 pieces for people in our raid alliance, and another jeweler in it has done the same. |

![]() I've got a couple of alts that are in partial T1 that I never got around to upgrading. Will I be able to sell those pieces back for shards or am I just SOL (and I don't mean Shadows of Luclin /grin)? |

![]() My tailor gets plenty of work up to T-7MC, then Cloud 9 Timeline takes over with class armor. She gets an occasional T-8 MC piece or two, but not much and so far in T-9 only a couple appearance items and a couple FSSD 2nd edition Mark pieces. She still gets requests for T-1 & T-2 FSSD void shard armor, however, I suspect that will slide downwards since they won't be required for T-3 armor. And our guild will probally run more WoE x2 raids for the new peeps and alts still leveling up. |

No, it won't hurt armorers and tailors. I've got a 90 armorer, adorner, and jeweler, and a low 80's tailor (and low 80's woodworker, and high 70's sage). I buy lots of brellium ore to make BG armor. The Tier 9 stats are comparable to, and sometimes better than, T2 shard armor, but lack crit mitigation. I'm not sure why you need crit mitigation unless you're a raiding tank. I don't raid *shrug*. Unlike T2 shard armor, the Tier 9 BG armor can use Tier 9 adornments. And has a bracer, which doesn't exist for T2 shard armor. However, the bracer doesn't sell any better than the other pieces, which boggles me. I suspect it's because people don't know how nice it is. Unless you already know how nice the other BG crafted armor is. When I first gained the ability to make Tier 9 BG armor, people were selling it for over 10p above the cost of the rare. I sell it for about a 4p profit each piece. That's more than enough for me. I'm telling you this only because I've made enough money selling armor and am tired of crafting. I tried a few test pieces with my tailor selling T8 BG armor, and it sold at high profits too. But I can't keep up with the demand for metal armor and adornments, so haven't much interest in making stuff with the tailor. Nor the jeweler, primarily because the jeweler can't make anything better than you can buy from faction merchants in SF. I haven't looked around for better recipes, because I can't keep up with the demand for recipes I have on other characters. |

![]() people buying BG t9 gear to replace t2 are frankly not paying attention if they are doing it as a T2 upgrade. there are set bonuses on the t2-t3 gear that in many cases are pretty nice. bane warding, for example. rockiron nerves for tanks. mitigation increases. I'm an armorer adn I wouldn't trade T2 for that BG gear simply becuase of the set bonuses and certain peice bonuses on it. the real reason is probably becuase they want the toughness for playing BG, becuase right now BG armor from the merchant is better then virtually anything you can get outside of raiding. |

The same here. The Mark armor is attractive, but you need so many marks for it that I can pretty much write off getting it. And the BG gear isn't good enough to make up for losing the blue effects on my T2s. And frankly I've zero interest in battlegrounds. It's PvP, and if I wanted that I'd've rolled on Nagafen. Now, my lower-level alts who're coming up aren't going to be going for shard armor. I'll probably outfit them in level 82 MC armor until they hit 90, then see about Mark armor for them. |
