When i saw the update notes and all the got stuff you put in, i was excited. But than i looked for anything related to the ranger class and there was nothing......

You said in Beta namely Rothgar " You would look into it", even if the ranger community didnt expect anything coming up in the  first weeks after release of the expansion, we had hopes that GU56 would bring much needed changes to our class.

I cant really say im surprised  as empty words and phrases were given to our class before....... It just has that bitter taste that our hopes are demolished.

I think is good to assume that this will close subscription and accounts as people are not willing to wait any longer.....

If you were actually reading the post you would realize he said they would look into it but they were working on the current projects first and you likely wouldnt see any changes for some time.

No were did they ever state or imply ANY class changes coming in any GU.

so you made a assumption, based off a vague reply - and now want to crucify the guy?

in my opinion, it was just dumb of you to make any assumption on any time frame, without a more specific reason, then "we'll look into it". you built yourself up for a let down.

Most rangers have already betrayed to assassin, so they don't have as many people complaining.

or quit. And with this GU the bell tolls for any end game rangers out there.

5 year player - done because of this bs. I will never play an SOE game again or recommend an SOE game to anyone. And not simply for the disgrace the ranger class has become.

As disappointed as I was to see no significant changes on the Ranger side I have to agree with Gungo. We were never given a specific date; GU56 was a community expectation, not a Dev promise.

And as for Rothgar in specific all he was talking about were ranged flurry/aoe attack mechanics. Class revamp has never been promised by him or any Dev, though specific mechanics have been talked about here and there by variou devs. All with the same "as we can get to it" timeline.

Yes you are correct. but with no timeline (and the months between GUs) Rangers could be waiting all expansion with no fixes. So a whole expansion is worthless to a single class because all of the new comabt mechanics they coded for the expansion don't work with Rangers.

When the expansion came out, I complained pretty heavily about what had NOT been done to the range class armor and jewelry with the switch to agi/wisdom from str/int.  But I have made the adjustments and as an end game class on Nagafen we aren't doing as bad as I thought.

The key in my opinion is AA and your myth charm.  My ranger is 90 with 237 aa. I still open world pvp in a complete set of Tier 8 gear most of the time because of the storm of arrows/triple shot procs that are missing on a similar set of BG gear. In BGs, I have a couple of pieces of BG armor and 4 pieces of brutallic jewelry that I use and I am working on more of all of it. My toughness is around 330.

I raid with 2 pieces of T9 fabled, a t9 fabled bow with a so/so poison proc and the rest tier 8 pvp gear for the crit mit. My jewelry is dependent on the t9 mob and resists. In raid, my da is alway over 100, my crit chance in the 80-90 range, crit bonus 30 or so, and potency in 300 range.  With this gear, I zone parse 10k or so..not great but they haven't kicked me from raid yet..lol.  In solo groups in the t9 instances, I regularly get up to 14k and hit 20k on occassion.  There are any number of names in those instances, where a ranger is much handier than an assassin because I can do pretty decent damage outside the mob aoe range.

Given my play style, I won't be changing to assassin. I also notice that some of the folks posting had rangers in their low eighties. In my low eighties, I was parsing 4k.  Get your myth charm, expert on all your spells, and focus on AA.

My only comment for the SOE staff is to make sure that rangers have enough utility in a raid to be asked to come. I understand that many top tier raid guilds don't even recruit rangers. That should not be...if assasins, brigs/swashies, troubs/dirges have a raid role..rangers should also.  Making our sniper shot and/or stream of arrows comparable with the big nukes by casters might be a way to put us on par with other raid DPS...just a thought.

Yes rangers are fine in PvP. PvP is the reason why rangers have been nerfed into oblivion quite honestly. ALthought they said the mechanics were seperate the great ranger nerf started when PvP came out and has not stopped.

I am in my mid 80s because I refuse to play my ranger. I was parsing 10k back in RoK - so yes 10k is horrid for SF when assassins, brigs, illys, rogues, mages can all parse way way higher - i am talking 30K plus for those classes with bursts above 60k at times depending on the fights.

As for AoEs, assassins/rogues have so many hitpoints this expansion that jousting is a joke and most can just stay in. So being able to stay outside AoE is not all it is cracked up to be.

Anyways, I am playing my SK and Dirge for now. 2 classes that SOE loves. But when my sub is up, I am done.

Your scapegoating PVP when that really had nothing to do with rangers other then the nerf to rangers able to cast and run at same time. (kiting nerf)Rangers were caught up in several damage reductions that was global changes such as initial proc nerfs (normalization, melee weapon procs). Then they introduced a bunch of abilites that didnt work while ranged (aoe auto atk, flurry, etc)<- to lazy to codeThen they started introducing stats that only worked for melee (double atk, melee crit)<- aerilik <3 assassins more then you

In all honest you were nerfed because at the time assassins were crying they were useless. Since then assassin have been topping rangers and rangers have been useless.
