I've been away from the game for a while, and when I came back, I brought a very old Templar character out of retirement. This character had not been played since long before the Cures were consolidated, so of course when I logged her in, I got the new Cure. However, I'm noticing that she can only Cure effects up to one level higher than her current level. I've gotten a few levels on her and this remains consistent; every time she levels, her Cure can only cure one level higher than she is. I seem to remember before that I could cure several levels higher than myself. I asked a guildmate who is a Fury the same level as I am (mid-40s) and she said she can cure something like 5 or 6 levels higher than herself, I forget which exactly. I just got my Group Cure and it's the exact same way, but it's just Apprentice at the moment. I don't think you can upgrade the single target Cure?

So my question is, am I bugged somehow and SHOULD be able to Cure higher than I am, or are Templars just not as good of Curers as other healers now? Thanks for any help on this matter!

That sounds kinda strange.  The group cure you do want to upgrade to Expert (old Adept III), cause the expansion hit and I had the problem of not being able to cure the group and noticed i just had the basic version since hey, that's all that was needed lol.

I had this happen to an inquisitor in guild back in RoK when we were killing Leviathan and I gave him a ton of grief for not curing his group.  I found out after that his cure was bugged.

So your cure can get bugged?  Can this happen to group cures?  I ask because while I have a templar (81 right now, not my main), my wife's Mystic's group cure didn't have an upgrade this teir, and only cures up to 85.  She's 90.  You see the problem.

So can this happen to other cures too?

The group cures don't increase in power based on your level , and are solely based on the quality of the spell being used.

It sounds like she only has a journeyman version of Ebbing Spirits III. An adept version will cure up to level 93 ,  an expert up to 109 ,and a master up to 124.

A tangential question: is there some chart or graph out there that lists which classes cast which type of hostile spells?  Every time I buff mana cure I have to ask because I can never remember.....

Using mana cure is a bit more effective since the resist consolidation since you no longer appear to need to exactly match the resist type - so any elemental will cure any elemental debuff , rather than needing cold to cure cold and heat to cure heat.

For the most part I rely on putting it on the mages :

Arcane - Illusionists, Coercers

Elemental - Wizard, Conjuror

Noxious - Warlock ,Necromancer

Failing that I would guess something like this (though I'm not entirely certain on all of them , and some classes have more of a mix of types) :

Arcane - Troubadour, Paladin , Cleric , Inquisitor

Elemental - Warden , Fury

Noxious - Dirge , Shadowknight , Mystic , Defiler
