Can't play after update this morning 3/12/10

Every day when I log in I type my account information in and click on the login button. It takes around 2 full minutes then the play button comes up. I click on the play button then my desktop comes up and after about 4 full minutes the character selection comes up. I have just learned to deal with how long it takes me to log on. Today, after the morning update, every time I click on "PLAY" I see my desktop as usual but the game never comes up. I have waited 10 minutes each time and then restarted my computer. I also tried again to log in but I don't get the play button if I do that, I just get a "CHECKING" button.

Will someone please help me with this? It's getting very frustrating.
