Fatal error 10162

Just installed the game today, never played before now. Installed fine or so it would seem, tried updating my drivers to no avail, also tried reinstalling still nothing. The program will start up and try to load the main page but as soon as i hear music i get the error message, E:liveeq2frameworkrendersrcVeshader.cpp (10162): m_pPixelShader 009eb25

Any suggestions?

I have this issue if i try to run Everquest2.exe directly. I can get into the game via the launcher if i wait literally 4-5mins after i get to click the green PLAY button. If anyone knows why i may be waiting so long for the game to launch after the patcher ok's everything please let me know. Everquest2.exe is running as a process from the time i click play. Might upgrade some video drivers and see if there is some new tech updated in eq2 which my drivers dont know about.

Back on topic: Being that you mention music prior to this (i havnt noticed this) i'm thinking i might check to see if its using hardware or software sound. I know in other games the dreaded Creative X-fi is a curse.

This is usually caused by a problem with the graphics drivers or DirectX. I see you mention updating your drivers. Please follow the instructions located on the website below to download and install DirectX 9.0c (March 2009 version):http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...;displaylang=en

Also, what graphics card are you currently using and what driver version is it running with?

Running 2xEVGA 8800GTX cards with 196.21 drivers

Also i updated directx as per the link and still have this error.
