Battlegrounds are on Test-Copy! AND you can battle SOE staff!

Battlegrounds are up on Test-Copy!! Teams who win their matches between 5 and 8pm PST every day that the BG's are up for testing will get an awesome battlegrounds cloak for their characters!

As a special Battlegrounds event, several members of the SOE staff will be available for match-ups on Thursday, February 11th from 4 until 6pm PST.

Our SOE teams will play anyone who wants to challenge us and (if you beat us!) the winners will receive a special in-game title after the event!

So make sure you head on over to Test and Test-Copy to practice and we'll see you Thursday!!

Or that this is a game based out of the US and that their Dev team is much too small to have people staying up that late...but maybe they would have more Devs if they would quit firing them

Regardless, there's plenty of people who are in the time zones who can't make it, so don't feel left out. There's also night owls like me who wouldn't mind if the events were from 2am - 5am. I dunno, it might even out! But don't worry, the last cloak they gave us for free had a pie on it...you may be blessed by not being able to participate, you never know >.<

Honestly...I just want to know how to log into the Battlegrounds. This is an interesting concept, even if it's taken from that one other game, but in EQ2's view it might actually be worth checking out if you have a PVP tooth on a green server. I always have but found myself dissapointed with the Arena and hated the PVP servers.

EDIT: nvm for one of my concerns, they have their own armor, and I suppose you can't loose 100% of the time.

Hey Kiara just wondering where do we find our cloaks at? I was on last night and we won a few matches. But I cant find the cloak anywhere. I checked my test toon and tried /claim or have they just not shown up yet?

Hey kiara I was wondering if there will be a beta buffer that buffs the gear so someone like me that dosent raid has a chance at killing one of you devs? I played with Roth yesterday and he made my gear look bad SMILEY Just curious if people like myself could get an even playing field?

On the Antonica docks there is Moosh He will buff to 80/200 T2 shard gear and fabled epic.

Due to some necessary and unavoidable patching to the test servers, we're moving this event to next Thursday, February 18th at the same time. Battlegrounds will be live at this point, so there will be no need to go to Test-Copy!! Yay!

Just for kicks and to try and test the load as much as humanly possible, we're going to have a practice run tomorrow with as many SOE employees as we can get. We'd like as many of you fine folks as can get onto Test-Copy in the morning (between 3 and 5pm PST) to help us load test the servers.

So remember... beat us up and get a title - Next week at 4pm PST.

Help us load test and beat us up - Tomorrow from 3-5pm PST.

Speaking of unavoidable patching to the Test servers... Test seems to be seriously broken. The launcher is downloading some files but after hitting "play" the EQ2 process starts eating RAM without actually launching the game.

We were going to blame nargles for the delay... but it seems that SOE has been infested with narwhals... it's a scary sort of thing.

Especially as Brasse now wants them in-game for her dwarf's Aquaman impression...

Oh my, the event vs the devs 2 days into the xpac? Those of us who grind hardcore for 48 hours will have a HUGE advantage over those who don't. Not only that, but, I wonder if the devs will have leveled THEMSELVES enough to present a challenge. Also, depending on the exp rate next xpac, if people aren't 90 yet, I doubt that they will be taking time off leveling to do a battlegrounds event, at least the hardcore ones, because they'll need to be 90 to test raid content asap. Nerfing the turnout into oblivion with the timing, IMO. It'd be much, MUCH better if you are going to postpone it till after expansion, to wait as long as a week after launch, so that people have time to get 90, versus having it be a slaughterfest by those of us who are already 90.

Edit: I must admit, the vid made me laugh a bit.

I would totally love to go in and battle some devs, provided that they fixed whatever broke last night with the battlegrounds, and got my toon unstuck between zones. Definitely not bringing a [Removed for Content] test-buffed toon for that BG.

They been broken for a couple days and a fix is suppose to be inc at some time.
