With the mariners bells, it is already very convenient to travel. Why would we activate spires all over Norrath?

It can't be to help Wizards to have more teleports... once activated, all the spires link together, no?

I understand that all of the spires are apart of a network created by the Erudites, but here is the question:

Why will we need the ability to teleport between them all?

In my perfect world, it would be because the Ocean waters are receding and it will be harder to navigate the waters. But I HIGHLY doubt that this is the case.

Why do you think we have mariners bells and spire travel?

Conceptually, we're helping the Quellthulian Euradites reactivate the Ullterian Spire system. Note: the Gfay and KP spires arn't being activated because they belong to the combine spire system. I'm not sure who's system the Darklight Woods spire belongs to. Probably the old combine but its a different physical appearance.

Now the real question is why are the Quellthulians suddenly moving to make world wide travel easier? Quite possibly because they need outside help on Odus to take care of the can of worms they opened when they went to build the Ullterian spire system in the first place? Possibly because they have been fighting the war against the void longer than anyone else has known about it, and they are loosing? Possibly because its the only way for those trapped in Antonica/D'leer to return home? Ask the Quellthulians, I'm sure they'll give you a straight answer...

Personally, I'm wondering why the Ullterian spire in the Moors of Yekesha isn't linked into the system. It seems like a huge oversight on the part of the Quellthulians. It may be small, but it is obviously of their construction.

I would assume its related to the large distance away from the rest of Norrath (and ooc, because they can't or don't want to worry about filtering folks who don't have TSO).

It already has a filter as part of the Wizard Ports. The only reason I can think of for not having to "aline" it is because of it is newer and already alined.
