![]() Since the recent LU I have been contantly hanging on loading UI resources every time I zone or evac. The hang is about 10 seconds with the loading bar completely unfull. I can hear the sounds of the zone before I even show up in the zone. Now thinking it was my new router I went directly from the modem. Same thing. Thinking it was my modem I brought my pc to a friends house and used his modem different isp. I cleaned out my cache/ioplans and login us cache file. Also deleted my .ini files (which seemed to fix it til I logged in the next session). Any ideas? Running vista ultimate 64 bit. eq2 default UI just wiped out the game and redownloaded it problems still there. friend downloaded the free trial at his house...same thing |

![]() Greetings, I understand that you deleted some of the ini files, but this really seems like a corrupt UI issue. Please look through the entire list of files below and try clearing them out again: cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.iniIf deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings. If these steps only correct the issue for one log in, then you might want to try setting those files to read only.

![]() I wiped out everything ,downloaded the entire game and reinstalled it. I also ran a reg clean and deleted the sony folder that was left over from the uninstall. Weird thing is that my spells on my hotbar were still in the same order on each hot bar. (I would use the spinner on the main hotbar and the first 6 were completely full of hotkeys). When I reinstalled the game the macros I created and were using before I wiped everything out were still there. But when I started the game for the first time it asked me what UI I wanted to load and I picked EQ@ default. Is anything on the hotbars saved server side rather than client ? anyways the problem is still there. |

It's more like a zoning issue, and one really affecting Vista x64 OS rigs. Logged into 2 characters in Freeport, and at the same part of the zone, the computer would grind to a halt, like in a update caching mode (right before the TS hall -- and I download content before logging in, not while ingame). Every zone-in now the game is chugging to a near stop, like it's updating right at the door/gate. What's unusual is the ping times are about the same, and packets seem to be fine (not being dropped). Before the recent update the Raptors would grind on load. That part is mostly fixed, but not this zone in issue. It's even worse, and almost like clockwork on Sunday nights (is this when SoE makes backups?), where I may not be abled to even zone in as it hangs completely (only cure is to log back in). |
