I was gonna try out the chronomagic stuff, but I've encountered several problems so far.

First off, just finding them has been difficult.  I've found a Timeless Chronomage in Qeynos Harbor (that one was easy to find), but hailing did not give any in game info on how the system works (I hope that is on the to do list).  After a lot of searching I also found a CHronomage Tasker in NFP, but I could not find a Timeless Chronomage in my searching of FP (and it seems the timeless chronomage is the one that actualy does the mentoring).

With the one I did find in qeynos, I first visited him with my 27 conj and was shocked that he wanted 5g to do any mentoring (at that level thats a LOT of coin).  Wanting to see if the coin was fixed price or if it scaled with level, I took a lvl 10 char to him, but the mentoring was greys out (I dont even get the option to mentor a 10 down to a lvl 5 it seems).  Since I cant really test much with it, all I can offer is the comment, that the cost of mentoring services should scale to the level of the character if it does nto already, and if it is already scaling, thats a very steep price for low level characters (a trivial sum to a lvl 60+ but, that would be at least several hours if not a whole day or more of adventuring for my poor 27 conj on test).

5g is not a whole lot even at level 27 on a Live server. Put a few treasured items on the broker for transmuters to gobble up and you have 5g.

Good point, its been a quite while since I've been that level on a live server without alternative funding from a higher level or craftign income (and the advice I always give to lowbies is to harvest shinies to sell on the broker for income, so I should know better SMILEY).  I was just thinkign in terms of comparison to what a T3 craftign writ or mob coin drops would give - especialy since the economy on test is a bit different than live (there seems to be a better economy here than when I last visited, but I think there is not a lot of transmuters here buying up junk to transmute).

With the Option of a complete Level Lock, there is not much need to Use the Chronomage as Low Level Character. And as Xalmat pointed out, there are enough ways to make some good Money even as Low Level.
