![]() Hi Guys I have a problem that just started around 5 days ago. I am experiencing major lag spikes & packet loss ingame every 15 - 30 secs which is making it unplayable atm. I have liased with ISP, ran traceroutes & pingpath, changed modem & reinstalled windows all to no avail. I am positive that the problem lies with either something my providor has done or something that has changed in the last few days at SOE. Below plz find my tracert & path ping results.Any further information required please do not hesitate to ask Many Thanks Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : rosco-95bd07950 Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Unknown IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : NoEthernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC #2 Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-1F-D0-80-33-84 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.2 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 203.50.2.71 203.10.1.9Tracing route to sdkeq2-07-01.everquest2.com [199.108.11.33]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1 2 12 ms 11 ms 11 ms 123-2-27-1.static.dsl.dodo.com.au [123.2.27.1] 3 11 ms 12 ms 11 ms dodomel-core002-vlan102.core.dodo.com.au [123.2.0.34] 4 12 ms 12 ms 13 ms GigabitEthernet2-7.lon55.Melbourne.telstra.net [139.130.205.17] 5 21 ms 20 ms 23 ms TenGigabitEthernet0-12-0-2.exi-core1.Melbourne.telstra.net [203.50.80.1] 6 26 ms 27 ms 26 ms Bundle-POS1.chw-core2.Sydney.telstra.net [203.50.6.13] 7 27 ms 27 ms 26 ms Bundle-Ether1.oxf-gw2.Sydney.telstra.net [203.50.6.90] 8 27 ms 27 ms 26 ms TenGigabitEthernet14-0.sydo-core01.Sydney.reach.com [203.50.13.42] 9 27 ms 27 ms 27 ms i-10-0-0.syd-core03.bi.reach.com [202.84.221.85] 10 27 ms 27 ms 26 ms i-14-1-0.sydp-core01.bi.reach.com [202.84.249.13] 11 176 ms 176 ms 175 ms i-14-1-1.wil-core03.bx.reach.com [202.84.140.162] 12 176 ms 177 ms 176 ms i-2-1.tlot03.bi.reach.com [202.84.251.185] 13 186 ms 186 ms 185 ms ge-6-20.car3.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.68.111.133] 14 185 ms 185 ms 185 ms ge-4-2-0-89.bbr1.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.68.20.129] 15 193 ms 189 ms 188 ms as-1-0.mp1.SanDiego1.Level3.net [64.159.1.29] 16 191 ms 190 ms 191 ms so-8-0.hsa1.SanDiego1.Level3.net [4.68.112.130] 17 188 ms 188 ms 188 ms vl861.sdtermswitch-1.sonyonline.net [63.215.251.130] 18 190 ms 191 ms 189 ms vl831.sdkollsw-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.82] 19 189 ms 191 ms 189 ms sdkeq2-07-01.everquest2.com [199.108.11.33] Trace complete.Tracing route to sdkeq2-07-01.everquest2.com [199.108.11.33]over a maximum of 30 hops: 0 rosco-95bd07950.mshome.net [192.168.0.2] 1 192.168.0.1 2 123-2-27-1.static.dsl.dodo.com.au [123.2.27.1] 3 dodomel-core002-vlan102.core.dodo.com.au [123.2.0.34] 4 GigabitEthernet2-7.lon55.Melbourne.telstra.net [139.130.205.17] 5 TenGigabitEthernet0-12-0-2.exi-core1.Melbourne.telstra.net [203.50.80.1] 6 Bundle-POS1.chw-core2.Sydney.telstra.net [203.50.6.13] 7 Bundle-Ether1.oxf-gw2.Sydney.telstra.net [203.50.6.90] 8 TenGigabitEthernet14-0.sydo-core01.Sydney.reach.com [203.50.13.42] 9 i-10-0-0.syd-core03.bi.reach.com [202.84.221.85] 10 i-14-1-0.sydp-core01.bi.reach.com [202.84.249.13] 11 i-14-1-1.wil-core03.bx.reach.com [202.84.140.162] 12 i-2-1.tlot03.bi.reach.com [202.84.251.185] 13 ge-6-20.car3.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.68.111.133] 14 ge-4-2-0-89.bbr1.LosAngeles1.Level3.net [4.68.20.129] 15 as-1-0.mp1.SanDiego1.Level3.net [64.159.1.29] 16 so-10-0.hsa1.SanDiego1.Level3.net [4.68.113.38] 17 vl861.sdtermswitch-1.sonyonline.net [63.215.251.130] 18 vl831.sdkollsw-1.sonyonline.net [64.37.144.82] 19 sdkeq2-07-01.everquest2.com [199.108.11.33] Computing statistics for 475 seconds... ![]() The fact that this has only happened recently seems to indicated a problem with your router or ISP. Since I don't know what's happening on the ISP's side, let's check out the router. The game uses a range of ports for connecting and the specific ports your computer uses will constantly shift within that range. It's possible that the router you are using has blocked a port that the game has decided to use at this point. That could cause the lag spikes you're seeing as the connection get's rerouted around the blocked port. If at all possible I would like you try connecting your computer directly to the modem, bypassing the router. This will tell us whether or not the router is part of the problem. If that corrects the issue then we will need to set up your router for port forwarding to prevent further problems.
