Hi guys!

I tried to search the forums, but I didn't find much -- are the Storm Shepherds books about (I use these terms lightly, hehe) fictional or real characters?  Did these people actually exist in EQ2 history and are biographies of sorts, or are they just made-up literature... or do we not know?

Thanks for any and all help (:

They're stories of storm shepards who existed during the last 500 years. None of their names sounded familiar, so I don't think they were in EQlive. The Murder of the Seerress live event over the summer had you directly helping a Stormshepard though.

There's also a storm shepard who gives you quests in the building where the Jboots guy is.

So that makes them biographical, then?

Thanks for the reply and info! (:

Probably biographical. The Storm Shepherds fall from EQ1 where Halfling druids (and later rangers) had to worship Karana exclusively. The priests and most other halflings chose Bristlebane instead. The Storm Shepherds served to both help the farmers in the Vale as well as help protect it from invasion. Rivervale was constantly threatened by the Runnyeye Goblins, and agents from Neriak.

Honestly, I never understood just why the Tier'Dal were so interested in Rivervale. Sure, it was prosperous farmland and the halflings had been known to assist both Freeport and High Keep on occasion but it wasn't even close to Neriak at all. I'd say it was so they could make allies out of the Runnyeye Goblins, but there was never any sign of Thexians in Runnyeye at all.

Maybe there was a secret connecting passage on the maps that never made it into game? Dunno.
