![]() Can anyone make a suggestion of a good class to run with a Necro to make a good two man team for running quest. In you anwser could you please be descriptive as far as what pet the Necro should use with said class and why and maybe even a recomended build that works well with that class combo. Myself and a friend have a ton of alts to lvl up and we are lookig for a good duo pair to run quest and lvl up quickly. |

![]() Best duo in the world for a necro is..............you and your pet. You don't need anybody else! Since the tank pet really won't do a good job holding aggro off your partner I would suggest a shadow knight, paladin or inquisitor. The reason is that they can all self heal as well as take some damage. Personally, I would not use the mage pet while duoing. Its too soft. Use either the tank pet (my preference) or the assassin pet. The tank pet will usually pick up aggro (in defensive stance) if your partner takes a dirt nap. The assassin pet, in offensive stance, will kill the mob faster (hopefully before your partner takes a dirt nap). Another reason not to use the mage pet is because most lower level content is not group encounters (ie you only pull one or two mobs at a time). Since mage pets generally AOE you get an inefficient power : damage ratio. I am assuming that you are not using the mythical epic pet since you are just starting out. For AA spec I would go with Tainted Heals and the first couple of abilities in the Pacts line. That way you can heal your pet and your partner. Also, put 5 pts into either the tank or scout pet AA's. Depending on your chosen pet go with the STA line for tank pet or AGI line for assassin pet. Use WIS line for both. Essentially, your are solo spec'ing your AA's even though you are duo'ing. Remember that the Root and Fear spells are your best friends after your partner. They can, if used correctly, buy you enough time to rez your partner and give him/her a chance to rebuff. I would put some AA's into those, too. |

![]() Thanks for the reply! Well up to this point I have been solo'ing with my mage pet and I did'nt do any research before hand and I have been putting all my AA points in my INT line. Should I been working on the Necro tree first and not the Summon tree? As of right now I only have 16 points at lvl 25 and I went INT 4,4,4,4 |

![]() Best Duo for Necro is Illusionist. But on the way to level 80 it doesn't matter. Soloing is easy and fast. And those AA's are only good if you never plan on soloing hard mobs. Everyone can solo all that solo content you are killing, but what sets Necro apart is that Necro can solo very difficult group targets better than any other class can. And they do that by using Tainted Heals, the WIS line for defense, the STA for agro control and tank pet buffs, and fully upgraded pet buffs. The INT line and Mage pet are for DPS and that is a grouping focus. |

![]() With a bruiser is a blast - we continually push ourselves and trounce through normal content with Scout Pet up. We also use Tank pet and switch agro from pet to bruiser then LB the tough stuff for the win, or both FD for the lose. heh
