best weapon set up/battle stance for soloing guardian?

like the title says, whats the best set up for a soloing guardian? (currently level 71, will have full set of mc stuff come level 72)

the choices as i see it are:

1 hander/shield - dps stance

1 hander/shield - defensive stance

dual wield - dps stance

dual wield - defensive stance

2 hander - dps stance

2 hander - defensive stance

the spec ill will be using with this is one i found suggested on here and is as follows:

INT 4/4/6/8/2STA 4/4/8/8STR 4/4/8

which is the best out of those? any info is greatly appreciated

ostance dw

Although if I'm soloing something hard like a blue heroic and die, sometimes I'll try it fully defensive and am able to kill it.

DW in O-stance is definately the way to go when soloing or when doing trivial heroic or raid content.

I guess you are saying that DW O-Stance is the only stance?

I want to use my Guard to tank shard instances for a while to gear up for raid content later (if I can find a guild without any SKs). Is S&B D-Stance ever a viable option?

Depends on your gear. But assuming decent healers yeah DW + O-stance is the way to go for most things if you want any hope of holding aggro.

Defensive setup will make it harder to hold aggro. You just need to group with people on the same gear level as you and hopefully, always have a dirge. If you had like a dirge, coercer, assassin, swash, without ubah gear, you could probably get away with dstance sword & board.

dw + ostance

To prove a point I did 6 quests in lavastorm lastnight in this build and never did anything but toggle auto attack on.

No ca's, etc. Just auto'd my way thru new content that someone was saying was setup too hard.

DW + O-stance FTW. If you can get away with it; if your healers suck, put on a shield, but stay in O stance.

Agreed. That LS stuff is so much easier using DW + O-stance...even with my gear.

But it all boils down to what the gear you have will allow....for example...while I can blow thru the LS stuff and the MMOY dailey quest stuff in DW + O-stance. When I drop down to kill Stomp along the way...I have to goto Sword/Shield and D-stance.

Oh and I am still forever searching for a decent 3sec offhander thats attainable for me....=P
