As a Brigand I tend to tank about 50% of my career in TSO and that's climbing.  At this time on the test server, the brigand defensive stances and taunts do not appear to have been changed in-line with the new hate control mechanics.  Are there plans to make modifications to our classes as well?

Here's to hoping so.  SMILEY

Do you really want to have 50% less damage in defencive stance and take 5% more damage in O-stance? Hope the Devs forgot about the Brigand and Swashy.

The changes were made to the fighter classes, not scouts.

When I'm in defensive stance, my role isn't to dps, my role is to soak up damage and try and control aggro.  On test right now the single target AD3 @80 is 2500 threat, encounter is something like 1900-2400, and the proc is 750 threat when hit by a mob.  Compared to the numbers floating by on the warrior class defensive stances, this is going to leave brig off-tanking as more or less impossible as threat transfer won't be available any longer and generating the amount of hate needed to hold aggro is... not going to be a brigand specialty, shall we say.

This very well could be as intended, I dunno.  I viewed the rogue tanking as kind of the middle ground between avoidance and mitigation tanking, and we certainly don't have any real group aggro control as is - just hoping that perhaps something could be done about that.

It's not like many brigands tank that I know of, though.  *shrug*

Oh, and on a side note, the 50% dmg reduction applying to auto-attack scales up in negative impact in a non-linear fashion as your MC/DA raise and you go mythical.  For brigs like me w/40% MC 10% DA in defensive and fabled mythical, going from 800dps slashing to 400dps slashing of my 2k I parse isn't the end of the world - it's a reasonable sacrifice to make for some sort of advantage in the threat increasing department.

Who tanks in defensive on a Rogue. I tank fully offensive and always have. Even Tacticians Armor in MMIS ( EOF ) I tanked offensively. I am a swash btw and I don't get a Mit buff like brigs but that doesn't change a thing. Hell, bring on the 5% more damage in Offensive with a detaunt, I wouldn't honestly care lol. That would that much more damage I could do and another Deagro. Woot..

+1 Vote for doing this to Swashi/Brig stances.. SMILEY

When guards are in their new odffensive stance their taunts becomes deaggros

It would be nice if when rogues are in defensive stance their deaggros become taunts

Can the aggro boost that replaces the aggro transfer be used on yourself?

I don't think I actually checked if it flipped detaunts... I'll have to take a look at that.

Could compensate for the lack of stance change.

The changes to "tanking" go a lot deeper than just making taunts work more. There are impacts on scouts (tactitians armour in mmis) tanking mobs who are immine to taunts (a few bosses in VP etc) and mobs who spell reflect/spell immune etc.

After checking in-game, looks like switching to defensive stance does not affect the regular taunts - they're still detaunts.

Proccing up to 800 threat from mercenary AA is almost double what it is on live, but even then, I think this is going to introduce even more difficulties to OT w/a  brig than already exists
