so i had done a bit of thinking after looking at the two dietys returning.  i got to thinking qeynos doesnt have access to evil dietys, and freeport doesnt have access to good dietys. so why then do the exiles get to have access to which ever diety they want?  it has now become my belief that the exiles should(atleast on pvp servers) be limited to neutral aligned dietys.  becuase you cant have access to the opposite factions dietys, and it would make sense that you would upset the deitys of your begining faction by betraying them, so all that would be left is the neutral aligned dietys that dont place stock in either faction.

ok let me know what you think of my idea.

It's a game-mechanics issue. You lose your faction with your original city when you start betrayal, but you don't actually change alignment until the end of the process. That seems to be becaues the game engine is hard-coded for 2 alignments and requires all characters to be one or the other (probably it's a bit flag somewhere, "good" or "not good"). That's why Gorowyn is, in game-engine terms, an evil city even though good types can use all the merchants and vendors there and do everything except get a home there. Alignment for diety worship would be based on that flag, not faction with a particular city, and since that flag doesn't change when you go into exile the game engine doesn't have anything to check against to change it's behavior until you actually complete betrayal and change alignment.

I see it the other way.

The deities don't care where you live as long as you follow their precepts, but the cities rulers do. Innoruck's shrine is right next to Kelethin and not in the FP/Neriak area after all and there's quite a few Bertox's follower living in Qeynos (well, ok most are hiding in the catacomb or they would be thrown in jail or worse by the Qeynos guard)

^ Innoruuk's prophet comes from Freeport, is a Half Elf, and is only in Greater Faydark because the entire questline involves stealing and corrupting the Fae Buds, which eventually lead to the creation of the Arasai when Neriak became a player city about half a year later. I'm sure that if given a choice, that Half Elf would have set up diety camp in Darklight Woods, seeing as she now lives in Neriak anyway.
