If you don't bother to look at how the word is said on a dictionary or anything, yea one would thing rouge is closer, however....

Rouge is pronounced as if you were to say 'rooj.'

Rogue is pronounced as if you were to say 'rohg.'

It really has nothing to do with your gripe.  If a poster can't be bothered to learn what words mean when they use them, why should the reader be bothered with trying to figure out what they have to say?  Communication is often difficult enough in text where nuances of expression are hard to get across.  Bad spelling, bad grammar, and just plain ignorance just makes it that much harder to have meaningful dialogue.

Frankly, if you need to use spell check to figure out how to spell a word that is as common in fantasy games as "Rogue", perhaps you should use simpler words.  "Bad guy in black" might work for you.

If you want to be frank, this discussion really isn't about proper spelling. It's about grammatical arrogance, and that is so obnoxious. I've never mispelled rogue, but i'd never use that as a basis to put other people down. That's just mean, and down right pathetic. Honestly, if you can't figure out what someone on this discussion board is saying when they type "rouge", you aren't as intelligent as you are trying to make yourself out to be.Have some grace for those who can't spell properly. You'll be a better person for it.
