I've been pleveling a Brig lately and noticed that his weapon proc particle effects NEVER show up on this comp.

Settings:

Particle Effects

  • Particle Quality - High
  • Max Spell Results per Character - 8
  • Show Particles in Reflections - unchecked
  • Show Particles in Reflections Inside Houses - checked
  • Particle Level of Detail(Far) - 3/4
  • Particle Level of Detail(Near) - 7/10
  • Maximum Particle Size - 3/4

Rig

  • Q6600, 8800gtoc, Vista

Here's the really weird thing...I can see OTHER group members particle effects when they proc (Gleaming Strike for instance) but I NEVER repeat NEVER can see the particle effects for my own exact same proc.

(and yes, this is when there are substantially less than 8 particle effects per character happening.)

In Summation:

  1. My toon's weapon proc particle effects DO NOT display
  2. My toon's item proc particle effects DO display
  3. My toon's spell effect particles DO display
  4. Other toon's weapon proc particle effects DO display
  5. *UPDATE* Cannot see my toon's weapon proc particles EVEN when viewing from a group member's computer!
  6. *UPDATE* this only affects primary and secondary weapon slots, not the ranged slot.
  7. *UPDATE* weapons are adorned with Vampiric Handles and i'm using Vitality Breach poison...starting to think it's a stacking issue with all these procs somehow "cancelling" each other's graphics out somehow.

Anyone ever heard of this before?

Are you by any chance using the newer MC imbued weapons? If so then that my explain the issue. The new Gleaming Strike proc no longer uses the lightning flash effect, while the older Pristine Imbued weapons still use the that spell effect. The new Blessed weapons use a lightning strike effect though it seem to strike the wielder and not a target. Just a thought SMILEY
