Heys, I just bought a new computer with vista and I have installed, patched eq2 so it is fully up to date.My problem begins when I click PLAY, I get a black screen with the eq2 cursor for a few seconds, then an error messge: EQ2 client application has encountered and problem and needs to close.I have new drivers for every piece of hardware, and I have disabled all firewalls and I have disabled UAC (the administrator thing).I use a creative xtreme card but I have installed the alchemy patch that fixes that issue.I have searched this forum top to bottom and I have found posts like mine with the same problem with zero solution found which is quite worrying. Please can anyone help me out with this?

With Vista, you need to run it as admin.....  If that doesnt work, perhaps following the suggestions listed *** Read before posting *** may help others see what may be wrong...

I am only getting this error on one account on a character I am trying to get to the newbie area in Timerous Deep. Left the docks you arrive at in Timorous Deep to the area with the portal and elevator and I get massive slow down and bam lock up and crash. I play my other account on same machine without a hitch with a new Sarnak still newbie area. Getting Memory error and C++ errors just on one character on another account just makes no sense. Help Post similiar issue on a post with 17 pages but cant find it now....

Not knowing anything about your machines, I will guess at a memory issue.Try typing the following into your chat box./force_low_mem_mode 1and then /force_low_mem_mode 0 to turn it off if it does not work.Feel free to post DXDIAG and MSINFO as requested at this linkhttp://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=353617
