okok... i've been drooling at your homes for quite a while... i have a few questions and if this is the wrong place to ask... well... please someone move it to the right section. How do you get a garden with a house? and where do you get all the cool stuff u put in that house? i mean... awsome... i played SL for a while and there you are able to create everything you want from your house to your... weapons, whatever. But as i see eq2 is quite evolved in the house decorating biz.So pls where do i get stuff for my house or garden? i understand there is a carpenter skill for making some of the stuff but the rest? paintings? flowers+trees for garden? where form? SMILEYi am amazed at what a good job the developers did with this housing thing and even most amazed about how nice some made their homes...

Carpenters make most of the items used...  there may be a few that are status merchant bought.  You can look at Eq2traders furniture database for all the crafted items....  Everseek has a decent listing too of more then just crafted furniture (it just isnt updated as much currently)You can also ask in the forum about a specific look, I am sure that many people would be willing to tell you what the item is...There are MANY ways to make gardens...take a look through eq2traders and see what I mean...Just take different items and place them together for a nice look/effect...Good luck and Happy Decorating!

Carpenters do it all! There are trees, bushes, flower bushes, hanging plants, etc; all made by Carpenters. There are some plants, like the bonsai trees, which are obtained through quests or, in the case of said bonsai tree, though expansion/adventure pack rewards you gain via the /claim. There is some stuff that's made via Erollisi Day recipes and some that can only be made during Frostfell. As for creating gardens, if you're wanting a house with built in soil areas for your garden to grow, you can only find those in Qeynos or Freeport unfortunately. Otherwise, you'll have to figure something ingenious out to get a garden like setting in one of the other houses (one means of doing this is via the Carpenter made planter). But basically, it's Carpenters, quests, Carpenters, special holiday recipes, Carpenters, collection rewards, and... Carpenters. SMILEY

Your furniture will all be moved automatically to a new house. Once you acquire the new house it will appear in a moving crate in the new house you acquired. So all you have to do is take the stuff out of the crate and place it where you want it to be.

Add me to the ones whose favorite tradeskill is carpenter. SMILEYDon't worry. You will get status with time. There also non-status options for the big houses on Kelethin, Neriak and Gorowyn.

You can get big chunks of status from Heritage Quests and reasonable chunks from writs (both adventure and tradeskill). Start small with your starter apartment (qeynos and freeport ones have a small built-in windowbox or flower bed, IIRC). While you're leveling your carpenter and experimenting with decorating just toss in a few writs as you go to build up status (and faction for those status items you'll want later). I myself thought I'd *never* build up any status... but now I'm sitting with over 500,000, a nice lil 3-room in North Freeport and my quested warg. Not too shabby, IMO.

Some of the big houses in FP and Qeynos also require a guild level of 30.Those houses are nice, But I actually like the Gororwyn and the Neriak houses better.  You can see that you can make a lovely garden anyplace....  I will see if I can post a few Screenies of my Gorowyn one...  It is by far, not the best (or even very good) but it gives you an idea to not limit yourself...Not to mention, the 5 room in Gorowyn, Neriak and Kelething are cheaper and non status....

Ooohhh... Elorah will post one of her houses. I was wondering when she was going to do that since she pops up here from time to time. SMILEYAnyway, as Mezzmyrelda said, start small with the one rooms, just to get a hang on how to decorate and take your time with it.When you are feeling that the one rooms are too limited for what you want to do, then move on to bigger houses. If you want a garden there is another option with a soil for garden that doesn't require a guild or status. They are the 3 room houses in Freeport and Qeynos. The garden area is on an outdoors area as well. You can go to any house, right click on the door and choose "tour" to give a look at the empty house before buying it. It is a good idea to do that so you can see the shape the house and start thinking on how you want to decorate before spending big amounts of money on it.

Kahlef i have no problems with decorating, i used to play SL, where as i said before you did it all by yourself, from terraforming your land to building your house, furniture, plants, everything. I used to have there a huge piece of land that i decorated in a gorean/fantasy stile so my only problem will be getting a nice nuff house and getting the stuff i want SMILEY

Pffft!  I have put up a few pics..  Like a few Fireplaces...  and all..  Geeesh..  Can I help it if I am chicken?  lol.  I think that I even listed addresses to some of my houses in one of my posts....Seriously...  with the right stuff, you can make a HUGE garden even in a one room.  Just that ins some houses, you are given a ready made area for it...  But then again, a good carpenter loves a challenge  *wink*

Well, no houses actually have a garden in them....   You need to make one.  However, I do know that in the attick of the 5 room Qeynos home, there is a patch in the center that has a sink to it.  You place an item in and it sinks into the floor a bit.  This is what I meant by an area raedy made for a garden...  It makes it simpler then  the houses without one....

Decorating is such fun, that it takes up most of my playing time.  I would also love to have a "real" garden area but believe me you can make one that looks just like if it was a garden.  Once you get the knack of placing things, which imho is a pain.  You will decorate and redecorate a zillion times.  Of all the houses, I love the one on Gorowyn.  I made a char just to get a house and I am enjoying it A LOT. And yes you will get a lot of houses.....hehe...give yourself sometime and you will drool everytime a new housing area appears.  Its a lot of fun and starting from scratch is a blast.  Enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Gorowyn was the latest city added with Kunark.  It is the home of the sarnak, but any Evil can move there if they do the Citizenship quest....The homes are HUGE compared to the ones in FP and Qeynos... Neriak was the last one before Gorowyn and it is seems larger as well.

Kind? Why would I have to be kind, Elorah? There is no need for that as that piece you showed us is very beautiful. SMILEY*sneakly copy the pictures for future "reference"*@VoozooWell, the thing is, from the little I can understand of Second Life, the only limitations there to build anything is your skills and imagination. Here we have to work with the items and houses the developers give us. There is no way we can create the items we want or change the shapes of the houses. Although Qeynos and Freeport houses have a limited option to change the walls, floors and ceilings. The controls to move furniture around are probably more limited too. That doesn't mean though that each house is a clone of another. You can take an object and either use it as it is or with another to give an illusion that is something else. For example, to use shelves to make stairs or paintings to make screens and so on.Every time you think you saw all that could have been done with those items, someone comes and proves that there is a lot more that is possible. Also new furniture is always coming out, either in new quests or as new recipes. As for Gorowyn, any neutral race can start there from level 1. Evil races or those who betray to the evil side must first change their citizenship there to be able to buy houses in that city.Like Elorah said they are huge. I disagree with her that the Neriak houses seems larger though. The Kelethin ones seems to be larger for me but that might be due to the color of the walls. All that blueness from the Neriak houses make it feels a lot more... hmm... evil, due to a lack of better word to describe it. Elegant evil though. Not B movie evil.

Eeeep! I meant that Neriak seems larger then FP and Qeynos 5 rooms...Thank you for the compliment Kahlef.  I get nervous to show the houses that I decorate and there are sooo many amazing decorators on this forum...  lol

Ah, in that case, I agree Elorah. SMILEYHeh, I know about how it is when it comes to being nervous. Every time I post a new house it is like "Will they like it?", "What if someone likes it enough to visit it and I am there at the time? What do I do then?" and other things like that. SMILEY

If you have Rise of Kunark you can choose to start in Gorowyn if you are a neutral race or Sanark (the latter don't even have any other option). Citizens of Freeport have to do a quest to become citizens of Gorowyn. Here is the info for that quest.
