I don't know why 2 maps that I discovered completely (Commonlands and Antonica) are back to being non-discovered but would like to know if there is anything I can do to fix this...

I petitioned but didn't get any feedbacks from SoE and asking anyone to give me some advice if possible

Regards,

 Clekis

I came back to the game recently, and was amazed that my lvl 58 character had a black map for the eastern part of Commonlands...it is possible that others are black too, I just have not seen them yet..Would not be too bad if I got AA exp again from exploration discoveries SMILEY

I believe the map shroud is saved on the client side.  Having the shroud reappear could be the result of a zone update modifying the file that stores that info.  I've noticed the shroud re-appearing on my account a few times as well.

Daniel,Would you happen to know the name of the shroud file?  I'm playing on computers in two different cities and I've found that the parts of maps that my character uncovers on one computer are still covered when I play the same character on my other computer.  I'm hoping that if I copy the shroud file back and forth between my computers I can keep the maps in synch.

Sorry for the necro, but I'm the type of person that would rather reply to a searchable thread than attempt to make a new one.

After a re-install lately (finally got it going, thanks for all the help) all my previously explored maps are showing black like I've never been there before as well.

What's the name of the file(s) where this is stored so I can reload them from my backup?

Fair warning, I'm not a SOE tech, nor can I guarantee this is the correct way to do it or if it will work for you.

That being said, since there's not been an official response to the question of which files client side...

I restored all .iop files I had in EQ2BASEDIRECTORYcacheioplans and now have all maps (so far visited) cleared again.
