Hello. I just upgraded my gfx card to a ATI Radeon HD3870 X2 cause i was hoping on better fps on the higher res in everquest 2.

But it seems that eq2 dosent care what card i have :/ example; i get like 40 max 45 in the balance mode, when im in a standard questing area (not city), if i try higher modes it goes down to 25 - 15 fps or even lower.. This is bugging me i cant enjoy the game when i need to go balance mode even tho my gear is way beyond that.. When i run other games like Trackmaina Forever (thats the one i had installed atm) on the highest res and modes, its runs smooth as hell..! Something  just doesnt add up here.

What could the issue?

Other gear; Intel Quad q6600, 4g mem. running on vista 32bit sp1.

And another thing; the Anti aliasing trick (the .ini file thingy) worked great with Nvidia control-panel, but dosent work with the ATI one, any solutions on that?

Thx for yer time and hope u guys can help me =)

Prob want to hop on over to the tech forums for lots of details, but in short EQ2 couldnt care less what gcard you have.  It is a CPU hog, and single core at that.  So that nice new quad core you're sporting aint doing anything for EQ2.  I know I have one too.  This is evident by the AA trick you spoke of, all it does it force EQ2 to release some of its work to the gcard and off of the cpu.
